Just had van mot, all well but sump pan needs to be replaced sometime soon. Had a look around plenty about but price range big. £34 to £160 any one have details of a GOOD quality one at a ok price.

It will be hard to find one of lower quality than the original. They're all very thin these days. Buy at the best price you can then protect it well.

I bought a cheap one off ebay 4 years ago. Still going strong. I was quoted £140 by the garage.... I paid about £40 ish.
I did order the wrong gasket though :(

well what the hell, went for a cheapy £42 with gasket from the motherland of the EU:whistle:

Keep us posted on how fitting goes, I assume it`s really straight forward, just a about 20 bolts to deal with.
I`ll not do mine this year as I`ve just done the oil and filter change, but next year for definate.
What are you painting it with, Hammerite ?
I wonder if a coat of underseal would give it protection from stone chips ?

New sump arrived today looks good well made quiet heavy, plug and washer, gasket to follow.

funny enough i had an aerosol can of high temperature paint in my hand a couple of days ago in a local bankrupt stock shop

How apt is this thread, My Brother (Fiat/Bessacarr) had to be recovered back to wadebridge after finding oil under the MH earlier this month(y)

Over the years I have replaced a few oil sumps. It is a dead easy job! The important thing is not to over-tighten the nuts, you won't get a good oil seal if you do, so a low pressure torque wrench maybe in order!

Gave the new sump 3 coats of tetroseal and a good drying
