The thread on Spanish BBQ had me thinking.

If there is a no naked flame policy for the driest part of the year and sites will only allow electric BBQs, has anyone had experience of them?

I was thinking that they’d need to be quite power hungry and on EHU abroad, usually the amp rating is quite low.

Anyone out there using them? Any recommendations? Or would it be better just to forget them for use on EHU?

We used a Teppanyaki style hotplate from Quest, large size ,less than 4 amps for outside on EHU

Now, there is no way this could be called “bbq” but for 2 it was a half way house solution when conditions suited

It’s a large frying pan, to be honest.
BBQ imparts the flavour of the system it’s cooked on, ie it burns your food in certain places

Weber does this

I've got the same but in gas and I have no issues with it at all

I mentioned on another thread that our Ninja air fryer has largely taken over from the bbq!

2.2kw so just under 10amps a lot of Spanish sites wouldn't have enough power for it

H’mm…that’s what I was thinking..what’s the average amp rating on Spanish and French sites now?

I used to have one of these in my apartment in Spain. It worked well. Now have a larger gas model at home. Very happy with it.

Ours was a Lidl special and the box says "Power Consumption 2000W". We make sure everything else if off when we use it.

Some have 10 ams but charge extra most are 6 amp,or at least the last time I went, I wouldn't want to carry one for the number of times it could be used.
