Yes. But if you don't get have an adaptor to get you from the "normal" blue three pin plug to the two pin schucko plug used domestically all over most of mainland Europe and present on a lot of ehu posts, almost all big diy shops across mainland Europe sell them for just a few euros. Worth carrying one as well as your usual lead.

We have both of course....some campsites in France have the 2 pin variety also.

For anyone touring , I think this adaptor is an essential part of your hook-up kit.

I also always carry a splitter which has been used many times on Aires.

How does the shareing of an EHU work in an Aire in terms of division of electricity ensuring that fuses aren't blown??

As the power is sometimes provided free, and the sockets limited, often to 2, sharing the power to drive lights and fridge should not be a hardship or overtax the supply.

so if the 2 are in use when you arrive, do you knock on a door and ask to share?

Used to get this problem on building sites the 110v sockets were always being used so I bought a 4 way splitter box. Problem comes when you're going home and everybody is plugged into your splitter. (n)

Ah yes, I remember those days on site of playing musical cables. You would spend half your day walking back to the tranny or splitter to find you had been un-plugged, so you would pull a cable out and if a shout of OYE !! did not ring out then the socket was your for the time being.
