Help! Going away shortly and have noticed the 115m cap at the bottom of the clean water tap is cracked and leaking badly, see pictures. Anybody got any ideas where I can get one. It is marked Gordon Ellis part no 08825. Tank is on an autocruise accent PXL_20220626_134806048.MP.jpg

Brilliant! Thanks, if I can't get a part in time I will give it a go (y) (y) (y)

just an fyi for anybody with an older swift van, caps are no longer made. one guy who had some advertised has sold them all and they were from scrap tanks. Basically repair the old cap as best you can and cross fingers it holds!!!!

Probably. If I send you some piccies perhaps you could get back to me. I can always send you the cap as well as a pattern. What do you think?

Wow. That’s crappy luck. Do you think it is particularly different to other 115mm caps?

Is the seal set into a recess? If not could you seal with a complete disc of rubber, depending on where split is.

Yep, it's just a 115m threaded cap with a recessed o ring in the bottom. Done a lot of googling but no luck yet. Currently bodged it with super glue, self amalgamating tape on the outside and plumbing sealant on the inside so it's fingers crossed

You could screw it on so the seal contacts the tank lip and then fit a jubilee clip ( one that's used on a 100 - 120 mm extraction fan ). Tighten the clip slightly and further tighten the cap.

superglue will fail on that sort of repair. I would thoroughly clean and dry it then open the cracks and use plumbers solvent cement to weld the cracks. Allow to dry fully before refitting and subjecting to stress or water

Might be worth trying CAK tanks.

That looks like it would work to me so I will get one tomorrow. This forum is amazing, you guys always come up with solutions. Thank you all(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

PaulandChrissy or any of you other 3D printers out there, is this something that you can 3D print ?
We are in Germany at the moment. Back on 15th July.
Sorry can’t be much help to you at the moment.
Good Luck PaulandChrissy

Have you tried Tek-tanks they make a range of standard & custom tanks for boats. they may have the correct fitting.

I know this is an old thread but I have exactly the same problem did you find a solution in the end thanks

Hi no couldn't find one despite a lot of searching. In the end I repaired it with araldite. I dried the cap out with rice first and then in the oven on a low heat. Then I used a Dremel to gouge the crack out and then araldited it and it held. Hope that helps

If you send me your cap, I will design a replacement and 3D print it for you.
If it’s possible, can you send the pipe it fits to so I can make sure it fits nicely.

Hi it’s a cap that screws onto tank and the whole top has broken off so I only have the ring of the cap with the screw thread on I can certainly send that if it helps

I can certainly make a replacement. If it’s possible to send the end of the pipe coming out of the tank I will be 100% sure to make it fit perfectly. If that’s not possible, then I can make it from your bits in the picture. The fit may not be as good though. 👍
