Comfort (Aviva) will no longer insure a Ford based vehicle if it does not have a tracker fitted.
This does not apply to full timing insurance.
Even though the telephone staff do not know that.

Just in case someone ends up in the same situation as me.
It's been a very (unnecessarily) expensive and stressful week for me.
Thank you to the people @eddievanbitz .

I will get involved with this tomorrow and see what can be done to help

@Theonlysue is a full timer and I think she has recently changed from Comfort. Im sure she will be alone soon to clarify.

I don't think it only applies to Ford based vehicles - ours is Fiat based and they insisted we had a Tracker fitted before they would insure us too.

Presumably that is because of the value of the van.

I'm with AIB as a fulltimer but still an aviva policy.

When we switched MHs AIB wanted a Tracker and Alarm fitted so we moved to NFU. They think expensive is something over 2 million so our MH was just small fry. Other brokers think anything over £50,000 is expensive. You can certainly see why Insurers want Trackers and Alarms on Fords its those that are pushing up the Stats and the Premiums.
