Heard today the club will not be at the NEC in October and next February. May also have been job cuts.

I think their finances have improved, but we’re not so good. They are trying not to increase pitch prices next year, I believe, and no doubt hoping to pinch punters from the CAMC. As for the shows, the cost must be enormous and that is only offset by people joining. Otherwise it’s just that public profile. I believe they are also involved with towing trials at the shows, so don’t know what happens to that.

Wishing to be pedantic it is...

Camping and Caravanning Club.

It hasn't even got a "The" in the name

You can't beat a ped antic. Often seen at the Swaffham Bash! 😄

Gave up on the CCC five years ago because of their restrictive minimum stay rule. At the time, we rarely stayed on a site for more than one night whilst touring basically because we were both working and neither of us had a Monday - Friday working week which didn't make life easy.
Now we're both retired just had another look at them and was underwhelmed by their website, doesn't make me want to rejoin the club.
Saying that we're going to the CAMC site at Tewkesbury for 2 nights this week and was shocked at the price £92:oops: Only going as we love the town and we're meeting friends there.
Their prices are making us reconsider our membership:(

Agreed. The NEC overall cost must be huge with transporting their "set", staff time , handouts, refreshments and of course the NEC stand fee. I'm surprised they haven't left earlier. You have to smile at a club leaving due to NEC "pitch" fees when they're often derided for high campsite fees.

Also love their distraction statement in the press release, Trumpian standard!

In a statement, the club said, “As we head into our 125th anniversary year, we want to fully focus on building excitement and buzz around this exceptional milestone. It will be a very exciting time for the club, and we want to make it a truly celebratory occasion.”
So will it be celebratory half price pitch fees then? I think not.

The CCC site at Winchcombe is nice and much cheaper, I was there for three weeks earlier this year.

A website is not everything!
The pitch prices are far better than CAMC and you can save a few pennies by not having the monthly mag.
They are doing a cheapy for staying on grass pitch-no EHU at present.
Also if you are a single traveller the cost is very low.

Awww they're missing me. And I'm missing "amazing value" 🙄 😆

Talking to a site warden today, as I was impressed that where you emptied the one we don’t speak off, there was a sink to wash you hands and a dryer. Warden says this is part of the upgrade all their sites are getting.

And love the over 60s discount.

They have stated not attending shows as want to spend money on the clubs birthday celebrations next year.
