Any suggestions on a good campsite or aire close to Lake Annecy with good cycling routes or paths nearby. Within striking distance of Annecy would be nice. Plenty of sites in the books but nothing beats Funsters knowledge.
We have been there and used on the aire, also the campsite on the left as you leave town towards Albertville (can't remember the name) just wondering how you expect the weather to be the time of year
Depends when you want stay there, the Aire might be empty now but no chance in the summer its full of French vans, we stopped at a small site just off the lake in Annecy, best discription I can give to get there is travel down with the lake on your right you will come to a r/about turn left there is a ex Aire on the left with water still available but no parking, a bit further up on the left is the camp site (you pay at the house across the road) new little toilet block when we was there 3 years ago, but it was in the summer so I dont know if it's open all year, there was also an other one a bit further up the road. Camping Lac Bleu. At the 'bout du lac' near Faverage and Doussard. Only a short distance from the cycle path, and a great ride of about 10km into Annecy.

We stayed at camp fleuris about 5 years ago. Really enjoyed it. Half hour steady bike ride into Annecy.
Madame Cathy was in charge.
Free French lesson every morning.
Very entertaining lady.
Nice Aire at Bout du Lac, it's not really an Aire it is really a small farm site €8 plus €2 for EHU, it's at the southern end of the lake.
Very peaceful, 500yds from the lake & very close to the cycle path about 8 easy miles to Annecy.
There are so many campsites around lake Annecy, most of which are part of ACSI its not worth booking, just turn up. Some are closed out of season though.
Last year we were allowed to stay on one FOC even though they were closed and doing some refurb. Lovely location as well.

The municipal site is quite good, only a short walk into town and good views as its up the side of a cliff....or at least it felt like it on the walk back...and thats the down side..
When we were there it was 38C, had a fantastic day wandering around the town, boat trips, crepes - all the good stuff...by the time we headed back we were knackered...and the hill nearly finished me off!
Hi, We dont use c/sites but when went they all appeared to be very busy ! also the aire there at Annecy, so we used the aire at La Balme de Sillingy just north west of Annecy about 9 miles away, nice lakeside aire , slightly sloping I believe 5 euros a night takes about 30 , nice walk /cylce around the lake fishing there as well also a nice Bar.
