I wonder more about posters who challenge others opinions, as you say each to their own, just think that there will be more places for you at your choice of stop over

we are not wrong, just different :)(y)

Well said Sir

Port de Dinan is a great aire.

Down to the port for bars and restaurants, up the steps to the old town.

No services there but there is a service point a couple of miles away.

From memory it's a pay and display with a really clever machine that will gives you credit for any coins you put in, even the smaller cent coins will give you a few minutes.

Just left this aire today. Quite busy but room. One English chap has been there for a month whilst he house hunts in the area! I fished the lake but caught one roach only so it's not going on the list of my favourite fishing venues.......

I presume he was the chap in the large silver grey moho on the ehu at the bottom . I didn't see them at all , thought they must be tv addicts as Sat tv aireal up and no movement in or out while we were there.

Why the obsession with free aires and not choosing places you have researched and would like to visit ?

Who said they have not done the research looking for free. They like free.

You must admit, they are experiencing Real France.

 Good morning Fidget from a slightly grey and windy IOW. Hope you're feeling better. Really enjoying this thread. We've been back 3 weeks and although we're busy settling into the new house, we're missing France and the sunshine, so your thread is helping us to adjust. Of course it's also helping us plan our next trip :smiley: we're thinking Normandy, Brittany in the Spring. My Fidget list of aires is getting longer :smiley: thanks and safe journey :smiley::smiley:

Moved on to Huelgoat aire ( free )and town also lake, water 3 euro's free waste dump and toilet emptying , basic large car park type area , with nice lakeside walks both side to town about 400 yards lake starts about 200 yards.
along one side of the lake by the path are these painted planks or side of trees , my better half thinks they look a bit voodoo , but I'm sure it's a junior school project.

Have you seen the pizza restaurant in Huelgoat (if it's still there!) that sells pizzas named after famous footballers? My favourite was the Chris Waddle!
