The compound i keep my truck in was broken in to.

They wore paper suits and balaclavas.

Smashed the windows on the land owners Bedford MJ camper, tried to hotwire it but failed.

Smashed the windows on a year old John Deere, tried to hotwire it but failed.

Successfully hotwired a JBC telehandler, made offf through the feilds. Drove it into a bog, got it stuck and legged it. Old bill reckon they would've used to to smash and grab a ATM.

Loads of cameras and lazers got installed the next day.

He got trackers put on everything aswell.

Cost him a fortune.

Anyone got a recommendation for cheapish tracker for mine?

Absolute scum, if i catch them up there again I'll end up in jail ???

Did not Jim (Boss) have something a little while ago? May still be available?

Other than that....

All of our vehicles are fitted with trackers from this company for the past 7 or 8 years. Real time tracking on a Google maps type platform.

Rechargeable battery types are a pain in the arse, been there, done it and binned it.
Ours are on a constant 12 volt feed and buried and a real pain to get at if the would be thief detects one is fitted and tries to get at it to disable it.

Only trouble is i disconnect the batteries anyway so would need to be a battery operated one.

Its going to be back up. I've got other things in place to make it almost impossible to steal.

Mine is now in it`s second vehicle. Hard wired into the Motorhome. I can Monitor 24/7. It works on GPS and GPRS. The Cost of Data calls to check the output(s) is Free (To Me). The Sim is a Giffgaff, and I am on Giffgaff so text calls are free. If I monitor from another phone it cost a Text message in both directions

Please what is the “Service Top Up” charge?

I have a Steetwize Tracker on My van. Cost is around £50.
Bit of a faff to set it up.
Tesco Sim Card PAYG Sim.
Costs 10p a text.
Phone it, wait for the voicemail, hang up and it sends You a google map of where the Tracker is
{ Which is hidden in the van with a 12V supply }
Phone it once a month to keep your Sim activated.
You should also be able to send it a text and it sends you a map.
To top it up You have to take the Sim out of the Tracker and put in a phone
then phone Tesco, top it up and put it back in the Tracker.
it's gps so needs to see the sky or with minimal obstructions in the way.
This is a basic cheap tracker but does the job.

Just remember, locks only keep honest people out
No morals keep honest people out. Locks keep villains out.

The better the locks the more evil the villain.

This works wonders, especially if you remove the lead and replace with rocksalt, it won't kill people but really does hurt !

That's what I linked to: popular with gamekeepers and farmers. Although the cartridge is a blank. Shotgun cartridges require a Shotgun Certificate to purchase these days. The 'Bike Mine' is a plastic-coated version. A home-made one would take at least 10 minutes to manufacture  .

This is the one I bought after searching a while. Although never got round to fitting it. I paid £18.00 for it.

Just checked this model is no longer available. The new B version is £30

I got one of these, it's cheap, waterproof, contains a battery so it will continue to transmit for around 4 hours after it's been disconnected and works a treat, the only negative is that the instructions are in Chinglish but I managed to install it without too much trouble. Make sure you buy a sim card that will work wherever you are travelling.

Do these sim trackers work over the other side or do you have to do something to sort the roaming out?

I think it depends on the sim provider, the device i linked to works world wide, i use a global m2m sim which works anywhere also.
