Been preparing the van for the bring 'n' buy meet and got to the black streaks...

i discovered a product which is guaranteed to remove all black streaks...light and heavy ones :thumb:

    its been around for years.

also removed the tarnish from the chrome effect Kontiki transfers and makes them shine as new...(the red is my reflection)

    the products name......

    'T' Cut.

before and after pics and the Kontiki badge half and half.

only takes a very light wipeover and only done once a year.
future jobs will be removing more wax polish than gel coat.

i'm not that fussy about them but they do need removing from time to time.

i reckon it will take a few years to rub through the gel coat. :thumb::roflmto:

Keep the roof clean and the black streaks will not be a problem.

If I have any, I use Mr Muscle. Spray it on and leave for 10 seconds then wipe off with a damp cloth. Then put the hosepipe on the area.

The way I figure it, they must be strong chemicals to work so quickly. Probably better to get rid of them quickly, hence the hosepipe.

Another way is 'Traffic Film Remover' or Fenwicks Caravan Motorhome cleaner (somewhat more expensive and does not polish like T Cut)

I found that Onedrywash works a treat. Bit more than a light wipe over though

my black streaks dont originate at the roof....they start under the windows.

even with a roof cover they still appear at below the window level...as in the thumb nails.

Unfortunately Traffic Film removers differ by concentration and manufacturer
Most widely available types are called economy mixes and can be diluted to a ratio of 50 parts water to 1 part remover (hand wash) up to 125 parts water for weaker mixes (jet wash) I have used it 50/50 (spray bottle) for stubborn jobs and rinsed asap

Just used some Fenwicks Bobby Dazzler on the car and what a mess it's left.
Quote from the label " A quick rub over with a dry cloth will remove any water marks" no it won't and definitely not on the glass.
I'll have to get the polish and window cleaner out and undo what it has taken me over an hour to do:Sad:
It's not going anywhere near the Motorhome that's for sure.

    What a waste of money.
