Don't know if this is the right place for this query but we are going to dent this weekend have been many times on the bike but never In the motor home does anyone have any input which is the best route we are coming from burnley on Lancashire .ta

I could be wrong and you certainly will have more local knowledge than me but my sat nav says A682 and then A65 which look fine, then you have the difficult choice ;) shortcut through Barbon and a nice stone wall lined road straight to Dent or further on the A683 to Sedbergh and then a little road to Dent keeping the North side of the river (at least this one has a white line down the middle), I think I might favour the later option as the road looks pretty decent on Google Earth(y) Don't blame me if it all goes wrong though.

A682 to Gisburn then through to A59, turn left at roundabout on to A682 follow to A65 Settle, at Settle take B6479 to Ribblehead, turn right B6255 towards Hawes, about 3 miles in turn left signposted Cowgill/Dent, if you come to the farm with loads of washing hanging out you have come too far!( or start going downhill towards Hawes) Dent can be very narrow in places!)

From Burnley I'd consider going to Dent from the Sedburgh side. I don't know the road from Hawes but I'd be thinking twice about about taking the motorhome from the Settle side (Ingleton, Stonehouse etc). From Burnley M65, M6 north to Junction 37 (?) then through Sedburgh to Dent. Longer than any of the A65 routes but only marginally more time. (and probably quicker that via Hawes).
Lovely spot though.

Yes I was thinking that was probably the wisest route

Is it the Dent music and beer festival. We used to go quite often but gave up after being bitten to death by the midges last time we were there.
