As suspected house sale completed in the middle of our winter sun in Spain. So we flew home to empty the house at the beginning of Feb. We're now back in the motorhome in Spain. Bonterra Park to be precise. Enjoying the lovely weather here and no house to be concerned about in the UK. As we come out here every winter we don't realise yet what fulltiming feels like. I expect the truth will hit us when we return to the UK in April. Permanent travel, what's not to like? I'm anticipating that long wet weeks and school holidays will be the worst times. Look forwards to meeting some of you on the road.

I liked the wet weather in the moho. Really cosy listening to the rain outside and not feeling guilty about doing absolutely nothing.
I‘ve only just started the house selling process, a week in and I’m stressed already. Enjoy your full timing life, see and do everything you can.

Enjoy every moment, it's a unique experience to have total choice of what to do and where to do it you will ever get

Hi there,
I’m a week in to full timing. I’m finding it a bit stressful, to be honest. Mainly, I suppose, because I can never find anything. There are so many cupboards in here. Maybe labels is the answer. Wouldn’t look too good, though. ?

When we went full time we completed on the house quicker than we thought, and to cut a long story short, ended up throwing things into the van and storage in great haste! Took us about 6 months to rearrange everything about ten times, before we were happy with where everything should go! Didn’t help that we had never been in a motorhome before! No good labelling unless you are prepared to re label three or four times at least! Enjoy!

Let the agent do all the viewings. That is what you are paying them for. My friends used to just go & sit in the MH whilst agent took people around.

If you have no fixed address and you have a car as well as the motorhome what address can you give the car insurer?
Thanks

I found once I‘d decided where something lived, I didn’t change it. It’ll take a few weeks but you’ll get used to it. You can also “zone” items, all clothes only in wardrobe and cupboard nearest, paperwork above the cab, and so on. It does get easier, though I was very surprised when I moved into my house ( 2 years all bar a week after starting off) to find 24 cans of dog food right at the back of the garage :)

Thanks—- house sold (STC) to first viewer. I just have the flat to sell now. spent an hour yesterday filling in paperwork. Now off to gather warranties for double glazing etc...

Oh to be twenty years younger, :( wish you all the best in your full timing.
Thank you, we are retired, although I don't get my state pension yet?

It seems there's a few of us not far behind you, I'm just waiting to hear when we are exchanging contracts, very stressful at the moment but looking forward to it all being done and dusted. :giggle:
Good luck, you can't relax till contracts are exchanged. It took us a week to unwind. Feels great now, mind you the hot Spanish sun helps.

don’t sell your flat till you are sure that full timing is for you. Get a firm in to rent it out for you . You can forget about the flat then . And if in some time in the future and all is well sell the flat. .we have full timed 3years now and love this way of living . But we stil have our house just in case . We never see the house or have anything to do with it . It’s all done for us . We just get the rent in every mouth. Have a good life full timing what ever you decide.

Ha, ha. That's what has happened to us. We had return flights booked back home to empty the house in 6 days. Removal van didn't turn up till a day later. Storage unut wasn't big enough. So we've 2 storage units to consolidate when we get back. We couldn't do anything sooner as 2 prospective buyers lost their house sale 4 times in all. Eventually original buyer was able to proceed, but we couldn't trust till it was all signed and exchanged. Very frustrating and stressful.

Yes, that’s the trouble! You can’t trust it til completion and we didn’t want to empty the house too soon, as if it had fallen through it wouldn’t look as nice empty! In the end we sold all our furniture & two cars in the space of a week! Also bought the Motorhome the day before completion! It was so stressful! We ended up leaving all Paul’s socks & pants in the bedside drawer, but just stopped at Next & got new, as we couldn’t face retracing our steps! All worked out in the end & full timed for three years before we settled here. Good luck & enjoy!

Do a list of where stuff 'lives' ... that way when you're looking for something you'll be able to scan the list and find it rather than raking out the cupboards etc. We don't full-time but we changed from a PVC to an A-class and the storage is very different as we now have lots of underfloor storage, a garage, external lockers, also cupboard in different places and no large over-cab storage, so doing a list is the only way we can find stuff ... well most of the time ... there are some items which we moved to new locations different to that shown on the list and it took awhile to find them when we wanted them! :giggle:

I've attached an old copy of our list which I did in Word - if you want the original let me know and I'll forward it to you which you can then alter to match your own MH and save you starting from scratch.

No way! John left some T shirts in a drawer too, ha, ha.

Hi, congratulations on your new life. We have been full timing for three years now and enjoy every day, there is always something to do or somewhere to go.

Sound advice imho. ?

We love our Moho, and spend about 50% of our time living and touring Europe in it.
We greatly admire folk who sell up their bricks and mortar to pursue the "Full Time Dream" but that is something we'd never do.
For us its a step too far,,, way too far,,,
I guess you FullTimers possess more bottle'un'balls???!
