All the humidity coming from the Artic Air sounds perfect for creating mouldy conditions, good for my orchids though.

Sandra, we bought one off eBay to try out, we do not think it worked very well, ok as a fan but as a cooler did not measure any temp drop. Also ours leaked so got a refund and did not have return it, different seller, cost was about the same.

Exactly how does a fan cool a van? Surely it only re circulates the warm air.

Look up evaporation cooler.

As someone has already mentioned, all the water poured in to cause the cooling is spread all around the MH, this can't be a good thing.

There is no cooling effect to speak of...

Inside the fan is a pool of water, the warmest part of the water is near the surface where the molecules are less densely packed together, the molecules that break free from the surface (evaporate) are the warmest molecules. So when they leave the body of water, the waters average temperature is of course, lower. That is the cooling effect, it's not really noticeable.

Now if you were to pull a vacuum on the water, say with a big compressor so it starts boiling at 5°c, that would be useful... Errr hang on, I might have something there... :ROFLMAO:

A fan just circulates the air. Once the air is moving, cooler air from lower in the room can be made to circulate and that is cooling. The moving air over perspiration carries the heat away from the skin and evaporates the perspiration that is cooling. ... It blows away the hot air heated by your skin.
