Well we are off in a bit heading for Cromer, hoping to find a pub or something for tonight.
Been coming to Yarmouth for fifty years off and on, kids used to love it but won't be back, very sad looking place now, shops closing, market almost gone, seagulls and pigeons is about all there is left, been good weather though , walked into town 3 days, camplife is another thing we probably won't do again unless it's just the only way of parking where we want to be.
As to corvid, it's been a real eye-opener, all the shops have signs use a mask , some folks do, some don't, but distancing is mostly ignored , but all the bars and cafes need you name and contact details but what they will do with them when we are back home I have no idea.

That's a shame Chaser, I have been to many places previously visited with the kids that have now lost there attraction. I was up around Cromer a few weeks ago which was ok but probably a bit quiet now. Enjoy..

Following your comment re mask earring, or otherwise....

We overheard two couples talking on the beach yesterday. One couple telling the other that they always give false information on the track and trace form in pubs as they don’t want to be quarantined in the event that some-one there later has a positive test. Great community spirit!!!

I wonder how many people do similar. As there is no requirement to show identification no-one can check what you have written down.

Try Dormy House Hotel. Along the A149. Just come from there. We did stay at Manor Farm campsite. Pitch anywhere policy in the top fields. Ok for a night.

That's it though int it, we were there having a coffee at say 10 o clock to 10 30 , so ok do they just report that half an hour or all day or the day before or what?

Come to that if we come down with it today do we have to ring them to tell we sat outside their place yesterday or two days ago?

We have found establishments simply recording the date and others recording time in/time out. Not that we have been to many so far.

We take all the precautions we can ourselves, while still trying to get on with life. We won’t go into crowded premises though, just turn around and leave. Pub beer gardens are great just now but I don’t fancy that for my Christmas lunch!

Although GtYarmouth is our neighbouring town we very rarely go there, it’s dirty and has attracted a sizeable migrant population many who recently were involved in the Covid outbreak in Attleborough.
Money has been invested in recent years with a new hotel being constructed near the pleasure beach and re paving/pedestrianisation of much of the seafront .
The Marina Centre has now been demolished to be replaced with a new complex and the same is about to happen on the market place.
Unfortunately high street shops are closing much like many in the U.K. due to a change of shopping culture and the pandemic.

I suppose so.

I would guess, and it is a guess, that if you report your infection to the “track and trace” people they would ask for your history in order to trace other contacts.

I hope I never need to find out.

A friend of ours went to Gt Yarmouth for a few days last week, and she said she wouldn't go there ever again. She hadn't been for years, and said it was dull, dreary, and hoards of migrants drinking alcohol.

Such a shame, I remember holidays there years ago and it was a lovely place to be.

Not been and don't want to after reading this thread :(.... but question, if ordinary people like us can look at a town and feel sad/angry at what is happening tour towns and countryside, WHY can councils and the powers that be not see it NOW before there is no turning back.

I feel so worried about our country it is bringing my depression to sky high level. I feel helpless to stop what's going on. :(

Yes that's what we found, such a shame we used to love it, now no wish to ever go again.

I thought drinking alcohol in the street was now against the law? Is this another rule just being ignored by police?

We have not been into a cafe, pub or restaurant since March 23rd neither in uk or abroad. Missing a decent pint and a good coffee but there is always next year..Didn't rate the table cleaning in many pubs before Covid,,would not trust it now. At least in a supermarket people wear masks..BUSBY.

What in GT YARMOUTH ???

Yes there are lots of English , the English that travel from all over the UK to take their annual holidays at GtYarmouth.

We visited Blackpool a couple of years ago to see the lights and lo and behold likened it to GtYarmouth, once off the sea front dropouts and druggies, no doubt all in need of help but could be typical of some of the larger seaside holiday resorts.

As far as GtYarmouth is concerned during the pandemic the council have reduced street cleaning, maintenance and mowing having a direct effect on presentation.

Just had fish and chips , sitting in, masks and disinfect things everywhere, you have to wait while they clean everything before you sit down, first time we have been inside, feels safer than the streets in Yarmouth .

Never mind the streets of London ! It’s the streets of Yarmouth !!!!!

Just been looking at Mr porky thread and trying to compare it to here. :Eeek:

It's all going to be one big knock-on effect though isn't it, no visitors are going to come so nothing is going to be done about it and it can only get worse.
One thing that hits you right in the eye, on the end of the pier they are still advertising the 2018 shows in big posters.
Nothing since:doh::doh::(
