Its 38 degrees here on the Mosel today and although we have 3 mains fans running constantly its damned hot. Whilst doing a bit of shopping up at Globus in Zell I found a Cool HP air cooler fan at 39 Emus. Thought I would give it a try and am well pleased. It runs off a USB cable (supplied) and also comes with a mains adaptor. It has a 500 mill water tank to add cold water and really does the job. Have tried it with the USB through the cigarette socket and it hardly pulls any power out of the batteries, so should be useful when no hookup available.

Does it make the room camp Dave?

Will that one run on 12v Janine?

Sounds useful. Is it similar to this one?

Just looked at the reviews for that on Amazon - they are pretty poor!

Arctic Air feel cold if you put your hand next to them but extensive testing has shown the overall effect is.......... It just makes the air more humid.

I know little about these fans but raising the humidity level sounds very wrong. The warning in France is that their predicted 40C will feel more like 48C because of high humidity levels.

I know nothing about this Arctic Air thing. I didnt buy an Arctic Air.
Thats like asking someone who bought a Burstner if its a Hymer.

YOU asked for alternatives and someone suggested Arctic Air.... I replied to let you know in my opinion after owning said device that it wasn't very good. Apologies if offering advice to your question wasn't what you anted to know.

Please point ME to where I asked for an alternative. I never asked for an alternative, I pointed out in my OP that it WAS an alternative.

Apologies...… I thought you were still looking for alternatives and lost the thread whilst reading the thread if you see what I mean..... :(

Sorry Dave - I was looking for an alternative in the uk

No worries Janine. Am not so sure this thing would be of much use in a house, and thats where quite possibly the negative revues came from. But in a motorhome I find it perfect without costing the earth and a bonus being, that it can easily be run from the house batteries without flattening them when off grid.

In my experience which of course means nothing, with similar things , they are ok for a while but eventually get mildew stuff on the spongey thing inside and start to smell like a motorhome with excessive damp.

Hi Snowbird I was very interested in your recommendation of the air cooler you use in your motorhome, if I've missed something I apologise but what make is it and do you have a photo of it?
regards Joe

Snowflakes about..BUSBY.

After reading many reports on here we bought an Endless Breeze about 18 months ago.
Carted it round Europe on every trip and only used it once in anger and that was for only an hour or so.
This time we could really do with it and guess where it is.................neatly stored in a spare bedroom at home. Doh!!!
