Hello all,
I'm looking to change my steel wheels which are rusting to alloys but keep the same 15" tyres. I did see a thread on the forum a couple of years ago but it didn't seem to address my questions.
There seem to be many designs of alloy wheels for Fiat Ducato light chassis based mh. All are stamped with load in Kg however not all come with a TUV certificate.
The question is, should these wheels come with a TUV or other certificate to prove that they will actually perform under these loads?
Thanks,

Paul aka Wikky

Just make sure you get load rated alloys. Look after them. Much better than plastic wheel trims held on with cable ties. (y)

As above ------ but if you must ---

4 x Ducato 16” alloys excellent condition with 7mm continental tyres £650 collection from W Yorks

Are they the correct 118 PDC for 15" hubs rather than the normal 130 PDC for 16" hubs ?

As some say Alloy wheels have + and - I love the look of Alloy wheels, Fiat do quite a nice range, but do be prepared for degradation over a few years you can help to protect them by using a sealer before using them clean regular and wax.

If you buy from Fiat (Mopar) they will be load rated for your vehicle

I always buy locking wheel bolts/nuts but theft of Alloy wheels is not what it used to be.

I will only park next a a MH with alloys, don't you know......😁

I don’t see many Porsche, BMWs or Mercs with steel wheels these days, of course European Motorhomes onlly come with Steel , yet another Extra to charge for !
Yes of course they do look a whole lot better than plastic hub caps.

I got my alloys refurbished with powdercoat about 6 years ago, they look appalling now, but the steel spare wheel I got done at the same time and which hangs under the back of the van is still pristine !

I've just upgraded my light chassis from 15" alloys to 16" alloys - I could only find alloys with a weight rating of 1075kg per rim on light 118mm pcd, but saying that, I could only find one steel rim that had a better weight rating

Had 2 lots of alloys, Alcoas on the RV and Goldschmidts on the Flair, the Alcoas needed regular polishing and protection and the Goldschmidts chipped and scratched. Did not even consider them for the Morelo, took the standard stainless steel trims on steel wheels, no spacers and a spare I can actually use. So don't bother save your money.

The Super Metal Hammer 16" wheels with a 118mm pcd I fitted are designed for use on Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Jumper and are load rated 1320 Kg per rim.
I could only find 118mm 16"super metal listed as a 1075kg and the 130mm 16" as 1200kg

I would of gone for 1320kg ones, where did you find them?

These are the same ones I was looking at. I did see however that they only have a 2 year warranty.

I did see 1320Kg rated ones on ebay supplied by a company in Germany.

16" with a 5 x 118mm PCD and a load rating to suit a MH are few and far between.

At the time I was looking for new wheels as we had up-plated, and the Super Metal Wheels website carried detailed specifications on all their wheels and have found the their Hammer range a had a 16" with a 5 x 118mm PCD with a 1320Kg loading, was then just a case of finding a stockist with the lowest price. I went back to the Super Metal Wheels website when this thread started and their website has changed to be all bling and no substance now. :frowny:

Yes, that was the problem I had, none of the the websites, or ebay, actually stated the super metal weight rating, just say "they are rated for the vehicle" so ended up going elsewhere

But, out of interest what did you up-plate your light too?

Is it 4000kg max for the light chassis?

If you want 15" as per original post - not sure if these are any good

But, they still don't state the load rating.

And, they have an et of 55mm when fiat oem are 68mm
