A lot of the above.

Also have one by the bed with a clock on it. Ideal alarm.

Set to whisper mode, if you whisper to her, she whispers back.

Tell it to :swear2: shut up when it/she suddenly starts talking without being asked:mad:
Thatā€™s because itā€™s always listening and wonā€™t have one or any of its kind in the house.

We have a Portal TV which is great for video calling with my brother who also has one. It has Alexa built in but we have not implemented it, and mic and camera can be turned off and physically covered.

OK, a present from my eldest son, so would like to find lots of uses for it if possible.
So far we have
1. Played some Christmas carols
2. Had a weather forecast

And thatā€™s about it.
So what do funsters do with theirs? Do you take them with you in the van, and other than weather forecast what do you get it to do? Or do you leave it at home in charge of the house, doing what precisely? When youā€™re at home what do you use it for?
Thanks in advance.
Whilst I wonā€™t have one looking at you tube one of the digital assistants seem to give fun answers

Iā€™ve tried the cat noises to annoy the dog. He just looked shocked, but he was laid in bed at the time. I think we watch too many episodes of the Yorkshire Vet to trick him.

We have 4 in the family now, ideal for group chats too.

Much better than Facetime with a phone/tablet when you always end up looking up each others noses.

Perfect during lockdown, everyone can sit comfortably and chat, can also see 2 year old grandkids playing without mom and dad having to try and follow them around phone in hand.

We all leave digital footprints šŸ‘£ but you can choose how big they are, some people are so trusting of the technology itā€™s like a Dr Who dystopian episode or standing naked in the high street.

Firefox and Safari are examples of browsers that will help stop tracking of your every move Facebook loves to follow you about if you choose to use it and not take precautions

The FIL was a bit a gimmick collector and always wanted the latest toys.
He got one, but after a couple of months had got bored with it so gave it to us

The only real use it gets now is as a kitchen timer.

Personally if you offered me one for a Ā£5, I'd say it's Ā£5 too much

I always wonder what sort of interesting lives people lead who are so worried about being watched! If Alexa is listening in on my life I would hear her snoring by now! šŸ˜‚

So true here too!

All anyone would hear would be me talking to the dog - in fact, why don't I just get Alexa to talk to the dog and make myself totally redundant šŸ˜Ÿ
