Going by the image you've put up, you're asking whether to select 'Cont' or 'Thermo'. You should always use 'Thermo' for normal purposes so the pump runs when heating is required. The 'Cont' setting is for testing or maintenance.can someone tell me what’s the best pump setting and why

Ours works the heating and hot water via the heat exchanger on the thermostat setting, stops you getting too hot, set it up but just don't turn on the gas.BUT, if like me you have a heat exchanger that you can use to heat the water using the heat from the engine then you need to put it on continuous for that.
The trouble with that is that when the temperature in the van reaches it set level the pump stops working and there is no way to get the heat from the heat exchanger to the boiler to heat the water. That is why our instructions says use continuous setting.Ours works the heating and hot water via the heat exchanger on the thermostat setting, stops you getting too hot, set it up but just don't turn on the gas.
