Getting there!
I have been told to check the pump speed on my Alde 3010

I know where to find the speed adjustment on the pump but can’t for the life of me find the actual pump!

It’s definitely not next to the main unit under the bed, this picture is the closest I can find to what mine looks like.

Perhaps its inside the unit?

I have a horrible feeling it’s in the header tank inside the wardrobe and isn’t adjustable

The attached video shows you how to replace the pump on the 3010 and 3020. As you will see the pump is located on the side of the actual boiler. So you should be able to get to it to adjust the flow rate.

It’s the lump at the bottom of your picture see here

You beat me to it Ken!(y)

Spoke to Alde and the confirmed it’s a header tank pump. She also gave me some advice on making it quieter.

Will report back

Or it will be one of these in the header tank - not adjustable

By pure coincidence I have just taken the cover off ours ready for service tomorrow

This is where Hymer have fitted ours at least

Ours is the tube type fitting in the middle

If you turns yours on I would think you would find it by the noise it makes (y)

I might be wrong but that doesn't look like an Alde pump to me,I'm sure they'll sort it out for you (y)

Interesting (y) either fits to my prototype theory on my MH. or it was swapped by dealers before selling, it was a demonstrator for two years, then someone else owned it for three before us

I will let you all know how it goes on Thursday :)(y)

I have this type, Alde have suggested it may have been over tightened and the rubber washer is out of shape and to soak in warm water then refit.

I took it out and found a large thick o ring which I’m not even sure should be there

Does anyone else have this type they could check?

I have refitted finger tight as recommended by Alde and it now runs silent.

I will call them again tomorrow and ask about the rogue o ring just to make sure unless I hear from anyone here first.

Maybe the o ring is not so rogue o_O

So now what?

The pump in the header tank either runs or it doesn't as far as I know.

Why were you asked to check the pump speed.?

When I spoke to Alde at Peterborough MH show they assumed I have an in-line pump as I wasn’t sure. They said if it’s noisy it could easily be incorrect pump speed setting.

The header pump is definitely running, I can feel it and it warms up when running.

Like I say I have it running silent now albeit without the o ring

I'd try it now with the O ring back in,I thought it sets the height of the impeller in the tank. They can be noisy if the pump gets slightly out of line and the impeller catches the side of the tank.

This is basically what happens but I can’t find any info that mentions the o ring.

I can wiggle the pump when it’s running to make it noisy again and not sure if the o ring was actually the problem as the top washer seems fine. I have a feeling the o ring may have been added to ‘fix’ the noise but is making it worse now the proper washer has gone back to the correct shape.

I think the O ring linked above is for the header tank fixing to the 2920 series comfort boiler, in other words a different place on an older boiler.

The 3000 boiler has the circulating pump in the header tank. It can be noisy if the level drops too low. The 3010 and 3020 are fitted with the pump as shown in the video I posted earlier.

According to Alde it depends on MH manufacturer as to what pumps were fitted.

For instance mine is a Bessacarr and has the 3010 compact with header tank pump.

Following another phone call with Alde tech department they are certain the o ring isn’t part of the set up.

Turns out when the pump runs silent the heating doesn’t work, it’s whirring again now and heating working fine.

I’ve been on to the dealer we purchased from and they are going to send me a complete pump unit by post under warranty.

As an aside - not all in-line pumps are adjusted at the pump. Ours isn't - it's adjusted at the panel, under service settings. Ours was set to 5 - the setting for installation and bleeding. It was noisy. It hadn't been set correctly after installation. It is now set to 2, and is quiet!
