Despite what some people think you do not or will never *own* an number plate from the DVLA, they make it quite clear that misrepresentation of the number by altering the spacing and font may well lead to the number plate being withdrawn, so photograph it, send to DVLA and wait. When you *buy* it all you are doing is getting permission to use it nothing else, you can sell the title on to whoever is daft enough to want it............Yes I do have personalised numbers as such, they are Irish after one of my cars was cloned and we got numerous traffic infringement notices and Notices of Intended Prosecution through the post, contacted West Mids Police and explained problem only to be told that we had bought a stolen vehicle.............Pointed out I was an authorised vehicle examiner and mine was genuine that they backtracked PDQ. Was advised to purchase a £50 NI plate as ringers unsure if vehicle registered in Britain or NI. So thats what we did. Photograph it think how daft they are for trying to change it and send the picture off to DVLA, they will withdraw the plate but re offer it for sale in a later auction!
