I took out this years insurance via Adrian Flux as recommended by lots of Funsters.

Having made a claim in mid June, I am still waiting for the underwriter to respond with any information re the status of the claim. I have made many phone calls waiting over 1.5hours and given up in despair.
AF seem less than helpful in resolving this, having sold me the policy their after sales service is poor.
Is this the sort of customer service we can expect these days? Any suggestions to help resolve welcomed.

I hope you get on better with your claim than I did, as mine dragged on for nearly a year.

As a said in previous posts, I would not p*ss on Adrian Flux if they were on fire, one of the worst companies I have ever had the misfortune to have dealt with.
If you go with them, then I hope you never need to make a claim. It was a few years ago, but my anger towards them is still as raw as ever.

Sorry to hear of your problems but buying insurance from them is easy, filing a claim is definitely not!

Never liked the look of AF. Read some bad reviews and was put off. Then I insured my motorbike with a company called Bikesure only to discover to my horror that they are part of AF. As soon as my 12 months were up i switched back to bennetts.

Did you have any trouble with Bikesure?

If not, am I right in thinking you were only anti Adrian Flux because of bad reviews you had read?

Interesting.

I was with "AF" for years and years... no problems.

I love a good honest straight forward review…👍🏼
If I ever get another MH I won’t bother getting a quote from them…

Not as such JJ. But they asked lots of questions about where the bike was stored and they checked my house out via Google earth and said I didn't have the storage I said I had . It turned out the Google photo was an old one before I had Asgard bike shed installed. So then I had to take photos of bike in Asgard shed with reg plate showing and send them off to bikesure. So I thought if I had to make a claim they were probably going to be just as difficult then or even more so with a claim.

AF were never competitive with MH quotes for any MH over 75K IMKO.
The gave me a verbal quote at a Warners show, it was well over twice the amount we paid with Comfort, so I guessed at the time they just didn't want the biz badly enough.

Ah Bike sure! Of course. Yes they showed their true colours then. A not very good quote but then when I said no thanks they said why not pay now and then if you find something better you can cancel and get a full refund.

So I did, but when I asked for my refund they wanted to withhold £60 of it for 1 days insurance (the policy was only £180) which wasn't even used as I didn't even have the bike at the time. Then I had to produce documents to 'prove' I got a like for like better quote. In these days of internet quotes that is easier said than done. All took lots of time, effort and many phone calls. It wasn't until I got very stroppy that they gave me the full refund they originally promised.

Crooks/salesmen plain and simple.

Your insurance contract is with the Underwriter not with AF the broker.

The Underwriter's name should be on the Insurance Certificate, albeit at the bottom in small print(because the Brokers like to be the big boys).

Call the Underwriters and ask to speak to the Claims Manager.

I used to handle insurance claims for a large City Law Firm. If you have further trouble please PM me.

I have called the underwriter (Kinetic) several times but have never spoken to them as after an hour or more of hanging on they do not answer. It’s most frustrating. AF customer service have promised to contact them on my behalf so I will wait for their response before I take further steps.

After having a problem with AF (or their underwriter) I had to go down the route of the Ombudsman.

13 months of obfuscation, fudge and delay were cleared in less than a week.
Mind you, I did have to wait the required 8 weeks after my first contact with the Ombudsman.

Tried AF once - never again ! Staff seem to read from a script, go off script and ask a relevant question and they get confused.

And don't even start me on trying to get through on the phone once you have a policy 😤

Unfortunately, you only find out how efficient/good and insurance company are when you make a claim , I have never had a bad insurance company but only ever made one claim Directline when my car was stolen, reinsured with them two years ago house insurance had a leak and the additional separate insurance was a waste of time all they do is turn your water off as standard procedure to reduce damage and lessen the claim for damage

Van insurance is due will probably renew with Comfort can't be asked to search but will ring them for a better quote other than auto renew

I would recommend hitting their Twitter account , it’s worked for me many times this year with banks , insurance etc , they hate bad publicity

Wifey had insurance with Flux some years ago as the kids were learning to drive and regular broker (Chris Knott) don't touch the young uns.
Car park crash in Tescos, 3rd parties fault. AF claims department were utter sh!te. Dragged on so long I gave up in the end and we got it fixed and paid for it. Would never use them ever again even if they were a zillion quid cheaper.
Good luck with the claim and hope it gets resolved, sadly we only know how good they are when we need them.

Another for AF been useless. Getting a quote online then they up it over £400, dont ring when they said they would and asking the same questions over and over. Also dont bother if you were lucky to retire early as there computer doesn't like it and throws a spanner in the works !

I contacted them last year as they are supposed to be specialists in motorsport vehicle coverage, they were totally clueless, no idea whatsoever! Needless to say I didn't use them.

When I've asked about insurance on here I get loads of people tell me to try Adrian Flux. But the above horror stories?..... Anyone want to say why they recommend them?

Would please say that again here. It only takes a minute and helps build a useful resource. Thanks in advance. '\

I have just sold my motorhome and only having bought my insurance from AF less than three months ago I phoned for a refund.

Low and behold no refund was offered. Apparently I was lucky not to be charged 😂. When complaining they actually told me they put a charge of £85.00 a month on the insurance (that cost £144 for 12 months), apparently my massive discount accounted for the difference.

Long story short I managed to get £66.00 back by calling them out on their lies.

Spot on Geoff AF may be getting bad press but as you say it’s not the broker it’s the underwriter and it seems some underwriters Outsource the claimed process which can cause a bit of frustration as I found out when I had a break in and a couple of vehicles stolen.

Jim what may be useful is for the complainee’s to identify the underwriters as people may use a different broker but have the same underwriter and hence claims process/experience.
