For obvious reason I decided to let ADAC lapse when they changed the availability of ADAC Plus to us foreigners. However, I have Just received a second letter from ADAC complete with a new card valid from 07/20. The new card is for ADAC Club, not ADAC Plus. I don't need it or want it but they have included what appears to be an invoice for Euro 79,00. As I can't read German I can't decide if they are going to try and debit a card or whether it is just an invitation, or anything else for that matter. Anyone else had the same? Any clues?

RAC for me, if I break down in Germany will probably end up with an ADAC van!

Yep I had the same begging letter yesterday also for club membership only.
If you have Google translate on your phone it gives the option (camera symbol) to scan and translate for you.
Basically an invite to renew if your in Germany, breakdown within that country only. €79.
I think Richard gus-lopez had a post last week sometime saying he had not received his invite to renew plus membership and he resides in Spain so poss its for German residents only now.

No I posted Monday (?) that mine is auto renew & that they had renewed last saturday the 4th July at 129€ , up from 109€ & I appear to have the same partner -plus coverage that I had before.
matamoros , who registers his in Portugal, had his renewed as well. It is looking a bit like it is just UK members ?

Breakdown limited to 180 days European though, not enough for me. I have the Nationwide benefits as well as ADAC.

I telephoned today to change my bank details & checked the situation before hand that
A) I am still covered being in spain & not having a German address,
B) I still have full partner -plus coverage.
Answer yes to both ,:dance2: bank details changed for next July 5minutes 47 seconds start to finish. (y)Can't get through to any automated stuff in the UK in that time

We lose our ADAC at the end of this month and still need to source a replacement. I don't want to change bank accounts or insurance company. We have annual travel insurance for us but need breakdown cover.

We have RAC Mutual Assist breakdown cover for our cars with the NFU (but not included with MH policy) and just UK cover. May be OK as we haven't taken the cars to Europe for years.

The MH is just over 1 year old - I think we have Fiat Camper Assist for the first 2 years - but I'm not sure what this covers and if it is Europe wide. MH is 3850kg and 7m. Can anyone enlighten me? The Camper Assist info on the Fiat website is rubbish! Does it provide roadside assistance, recovery and repair or just a tow to the nearest garage?

I would prefer to have something that covers both of us and all vehicles (and for a reasonable price!) - in fact something that looks a lot like the good old ADACplus cover

I don't think CAMC are offering Red Pennant at the moment. AA and RAC want an arm and a leg (and possibly other extraneous organs).

We always use the Eurotunnel - is it worth just getting their breakdown cover for each trip? I've never really looked at this so not sure of costs.

So - can anyone tell me - are we covered?? Do we need anything else??

Driver Guardian- under 12m and under 7500kgs. 120 day per trip European cover is £191, corresponding cheaper if less than the 120 day option needed.

I have nationwide account but as I am 76 I believe I have to pay extra, but I'm not sure

It's £65 per year per account (not per person if there's two of you over 70)

Not been a member of ADAC since we left Germany so not sure how current comparisons would be. I must add that ADAC were spectacularly useless when we broke down near Stuttgart. Recovery vehicle took almost three hours to reach us, drove straight past us in the motorway service station and had a look round the service area on the opposite carriageway before returning to us and began by complaining (in German) that the vehicle was not as described, he was looking for a blue motorhome! Our motorhome is blue and grey and described as blue on the V5 additionally it was the only motorhome in the damn parking area! The company had all the information they needed, the make model, colour, dimensions, weight, number of passengers etc etc. Initially the call centre for Europe is in France, they took the details and passed the details on to their German agent to respond. The 'lost in translation' argument was a bit thin as we speak both French and German. No attempt at all to fix the problem ( a fuel filter leak ) wanted to tow to a local Fiat garage. Having measured every bit of the van with his tape measure he decided the crucial bit that he couldn't measure (the weight) was the problem, too heavy for his truck! We waited another hour for his colleague to arrive with a spec lift and took us to a very closed Fiat dealership. Very unimpressed.
As an aside it took me less than an hour to fix the fuel leak myself once obtaining the necessary tools!

I’ve took out RAC cover with my insurance and as our van is only 6m it was £75. Wife has got to sort car breakdown still.
It a shame ADAC has finished for use.
