Does anyone know who might own this? Reg AU18 OMC. Found abandoned San Bartolo above Tarifa, Spain - near the climbing area. Quick check shows the tax is out of date and apparently it's been here a couple of weeks. The Guardia Civil are now looking into it. Thought I'd post here and see if it turns anything up. Cheers.

So les than year old and tax out of date. Not impossible but unlikely. I can't help feeling there's more to this, or knowing facebook posts, less.

with an AU plate, it's was more than likely purchased from Becks up in Norfolk. Seems a bit suspicious to me 18 Reg Bustner with no current road tax, c£70k's worth sitting there.

Could be fake news but I thought it worth posting just in case.

I also don't know anything about UK reg numbers, totally out of date so didn't know it was a 2018 reg.

Something doesn't add up.

Tax due 22 Jan 2019

1st registered march 2018

Only explanation I can think of is it was sold on 22nd Jan 2019 at which point the tax expired as the tax would normally expire on the last day of Feb 2019

First registered March 2018,tax ran out 22nd January so taxed for nine months......bit strange.

The tax would begin the 1st march 2018, at month of 1st registration, and run out at the end of february 2019 so, as it expired on January 22nd it was taxed for 10 months and 3 weeks

Have they looked inside a lone traveller that has expired? Or gone exploring and hurt themselves and expired injured and trapped?
Sorry to sound pessimistic but it happens,, like parked vehicle found near Beachy Head. Surely the police there are aware of who the owner is and a profile of them.

Doesn't explain the early cancellation of road tax though...... It still had 5 weeks to run if it hadn't been cancelled.

Early cancellation can ONLY have been actioned by the registered keeper using the V5 in their name to notify a sale/transfer of ownership

Or by declaring SORN ... which in this case isn't the case so to speak.... Just because its SUPPOSED to be off the road doesn't mean it is.

My reply was to GwayGways post regarding the owner going missing.
If the owner was missing/dead they couldn't transfer ownership.

Crumbs. Hope he/she is ok.. .. strange things happen at sea don't they..

Well if you owned it and had it nicked, wouldn't you cancel the Road Tax? probably belongs to the ex-owner's insurance company now.

The one that was stolen was staying at Camping Pinar San Jose in Zahora.

Stolen from the beach.

Don't know if it's the same one.

Just posted this on the Pinar FB page as it may be the same one.

I have just talked to Becks, it was one of theirs , it was stolen and apparently the insurance company have reported as found, but Becks will pass the whereabouts of it and link to Mhfun just in case more information required.
