A draughty garage (1 Viewer)

We keep the van over winter in our garage (I highered the roof up especially). I noticed underneath the van last year how many little tiny bits of water are stood on everything, not drips but bits of condensation. The exhaust silencer has started to surface rust already at 3 years old.
When I modified the garage I purposely didn't make it air tight and there's loads of gaps round the doors, I suppose not enough though. The interior is fine and the garage certainly doesn't feel damp.
What do the collective think about putting a fan under the back end to circulate air all round the van? Maybe a fan heater set to low or cold? Has anybody done this?

I think vans are better left outside....

Joint sealant can dry out and cause water ingress...

If you want to keep it under cover then a "Car Port" type thing...

Or well insulate the walls and ceiling of your garage...

I think it might benefit from assisted air movement Rich, my MH lives in a barn type building, with quite high ventilation the walls are latticed wood. The MH is kept dry but cool. No rust or water droplets , still shinny bright and damp-proof after 9+ years

If you want the perfect answer seal the garage and use a dehumidifier.

open the garage door for a few hours every couple of days

You get the issue when the weather changes from cold to mild and damp quickly
Metal takes a while to warm up compared to the air and that's when you get the condensation on metal work
Not sure the fan will make a lot of diferance
