It's quite possible that the refrigerant is low on quantity. Would suggest you find a good local vehicle aircon specialist to check it out. Perhaps other Funsters in your area can help.Hi
I have a 57 reg 983m the cab air con works for around 5 minutes then I have to press the air con reset switch to get it to work for another 5 minutes does anyone know if this is how it should work or is there a fault.
Many thanks

If the refrigerant is at half charge for example there is sufficient to operate system and achieve reasonable performance for a short period^incorrect^
In fact quite the opposite. When a system short of refrigerant is first switched on, it will give bugger all cooling for a while, then you will notice maybe one vent get cold, the other 3 outlets will stay warm.

While not disputing your suggestion I base my comments on more than 20 years of dealing exclusively with automotive air conditioning. I would reiterate that with a problem such as this the first port of call should be an auto air conditioning specialist.^incorrect^
