So, having self-fitted a reverse-triggered rear view camera to an android head unit as well as permanent rear-view mirror camera, I’m itching for the next upgrade.

I’m a fan of cheap Chinese tech, and having read the other threads on here about 360 degree birds eye systems costing more than £1000 fitted, I’ve been looking at current eBay kits.

Anyone have any experience of whether these types are reasonable for the price?

For 80 quid, surely its worth a try? That’s barely a good bottle of wine, or a tank of diesel...

I can't see someone hoping £80 will buy the same as £1000+ buying a bottle of wine costing that much

But then I guess you could still afford it, (y)I have the nearly £2000 package and cant afford £10 bottles of wine now :D2

I’m not expecting it to perform like a £2000 system... the cameras will be lower res, the recording is only 720p and there’s no separate DVR, or GPS location for example.

But I would be interested it it provides an acceptable quality/functionality for what it purports to do at around 1/20th the cost of the high end systems...Then I can afford the nice wine!

The cheaper rear view camera systems I installed are better quality than the dealer-installed Waeco system that came with the van. Time will tell if they also last as long.

Which cheap reversing system did you install please?

The hardware isn't expensive but how much extra does it cost to get the instructions translated into English? :)

Head unit was this one:

I could have used a cheap monitor for a few quid, but wanted all the functionality of a good head unit. Having tried a lower spec one previously, this one is brilliant. Great size, clear screen, and powerful enough processor/RAM to deliver fast smooth multitasking performance.

I fitted a cheap £5 reversing camera to the video in and reverse trigger wire, so it takes over the head unit screen when I put the van in reverse gear.

Rear view mirror kit with front/rear dashcam was this one:

The only other thing was a an extension cable for a few quid to fit the camera as it wasn’t supplied with a long enough cable.

Simple job to fit cameras to rear, and route cables through plastic panels on back of van, underneath the van and then through a bulkhead entry point and then behind/under the steering wheel into the radio bay.

Except that doesn’t seem to stitch the four camera images into the birds eye view.

Sixth eBay picture, bottom right screen arrangement close enough? Or can you piggy back camera feeds?
