Lots now
I'm sorry if this has been covered.
Please please please no political comments.

I know I need to get a green card for the insurance but do I need an international driving licence.
Anything else I'm missing.
We currently have no pets.
Booze ? We currently have a fully stocked motorhome will this be an issue in late March when we come back to the UK.
Thank you.

Check your passports for months left on them. And remember to go through the non EU line!!!

If no trade agreement is reached I’m wondering if Duty Free shops would come back ?

Good point! That's gonna catch a lot of people out and cause even more chaos and delays than usual!!!

If the booze remains cheaper over there which seems likely I would travel with a bare minimum emergency supply and come back with the limit whatever it is.

There are different IDPs needed depending on what countries you are visiting. Also assuming the IHIC card no long valid health insurance strongly recommended.

I seem to remember that, at one time, it was 9 bottles of wine each, duty paid.
Let's hope they can do better than that .

I doubt it. I think it depended if you used all your allowance for wine or used some for spirits. We were aiming for a big shop in France this year for wine for our sons wedding wine in May as it's free corkage sadly both the trip and the wedding cancelled. We were then due to go early September but had to call that off too.

Heres the current UK allowance from outside the EU. Of course presumably once we are out of transition it could be whatever the government feels.

The current wine limit for the Channel Islands is 4 litres which seems a likely starting point for a no deal arrangement from 1 Jan 2021.

Same as my link above. Strange how booze seems to be the main topic of discussion!. It suggests a big bonus for the treasury coffers after next year same with fags. I bet theres a boom in smuggling!

Won't need to worry about overloading the rear axle, then. 👍

Well I'm leaving on Tuesday heading to europe till end of march ....don't have any idp's and insurance just renewed in August and when I asked them regarding europe they said no changes so I don't have a greencard either lol
No time to get them now before I leave so that should be interesting

That said I never had them last year either when we were meant to leave in march etc

Have a great trip I'm sure you'll still get back in. I don't know how the driving permits are going to work for people already out there but I'm sure it's been carefully worked out and is oven ready!

Yeah im not too bothered about it .....i am if honest a little worried about possible increased hostility as a result of all the political nonsense but can only see how that goes.
Its a nightmare trying to keep track of everything just now and with the added covid stuff thrown in

I think most French people I've met are like people here with a healthy scepticism of politicians and a realisation that most people in the world no matter what race colour religion nationality whatever are nice people.

IF you wake at midnight, and hear a horse's feet,
Don't go drawing back the blind, or looking in the street,
Them that ask no questions isn't told a lie.
Watch the wall my darling while the Gentlemen go by.

Five and twenty ponies,
Trotting through the dark -
Brandy for the Parson, 'Baccy for the Clerk.
Laces for a lady; letters for a spy,
Watch the wall my darling while the Gentlemen go by!
