Bailey Alora
Today 15th July 2025 had Bailey Alora (2024) deemed undriveable by local Ford Dealership due to a cracked chassis. Then I noticed Tony 50 had a recall June24 . Why has it taken so long ? Has anyone else been faced with this problem? Ford are apparently going to buy it off us, how quick and how much are yet to be decided.

I would want the value of the motorhome.......ford will probably pay the value of the base van.
If thats the case get the crack professionally welded and get an engineers report to say its satisfactory and safe.

Legally the dealer who sold you the motorhome will have to compensate you. That is who you have a contract with'
The contract is with the dealer you purchased the van off if you paid cash. If the vehicle is deemed unsafe then it is the dealer that has to deal with the issue. It is then for the dealer to deal with the Bailey and Bailey to deal with Ford. If the MH is on HP then the finance company will be the first port of call.

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 will apply.

Just ask for a replacement van.

chris072 - you are over the major hurdle in so far as the Ford dealer has deemed the van undriveable. The MH is therefore not of satisfactory quality and you can use the Consumer Rights Act to remedy the situation. Worth reading the relevant sections, which are Sect. 19 - 24.

If you go to the Base Chassis section, under the Ford heading, there is a long thread about this recall. Yours, as far as I recall, is the only one that has been deemed undriveable. Ours had the recall, but was given the all clear after 3 trips to the dealers.

If anyone can link to that thread, it would be appreciated, as I don't know how to do it.
