Looking under the bonnet of our recently bought 2016 Frankia , which supposedly had a full service, I see these air box screws, I wonder how they checked the filter. One screw has no head and the other hasn’t had a screwdriver in it for a long while
Spoke to garage and they say they agree doesn’t look like they’ve been undone, no shit Sherlock, reckon they ordered a filter and no record of it being returned, well it wasn’t fitted . That rust hasn’t happened in 2 months 😡 Garage suggested I could check to see if it’s been changed🤣

Also anyone know how to adjust the bonnet release because it’s right on the end of it travel and doesn’t really work very well

I got fed up with replacing the crap Phillips screws that hold the air filter housing lid down, Nick, so I have now replaced them with 4.8mm x 32mm hex head roofing bolts. (y)
Much easier with a 8mm socket, than a Philips screwdriver.

Good idea, definitely be better than the originals

These screws are a very common fail. On the last service my garage drilled them out and replaced them with stainless hex heads (as I requested). When I got the van home, I smothered them in grease.

I have the same problem and am just about to try and drill out the screws and replace with more suitable quality fastenings.
Another failure by Fiat for the sake of a few pence!
Agree but how did the garage do the air filter

Order up a couple of left hand drill bits for drilling them out, they sometimes "grab" and unscrew them out ?
A screwdriver slot put in with a Dremel sometimes works too, but whether drilling or grinding on it, keep a bottle of water handy for cooling things down or there's a chance you might melt the plastic.

I once hit a big owl and it totally wrecked the passenger side headlight. The whoie headlight was replaced with a new unit and covered by insurance, all good. Except few weeks later I was becoming annoyed by an intermittent resonant sound below the windshield. Checked the grill there for leaves or other garbage, but instead found all the screws for the headlamp unit. Wasn't fixed at all, came off with just a bit off nudging. Was pretty amazed it hadn't fallen out of place at some bump earlier.

I trust the garage we use but from my days working on fleet vehicles I still mark the filters with the date they are changed. The garage don’t mind and the boss says it keeps there guys on there toes because he knows I can check they have been changed.

Probably not due for replacement.
Screws look similar to mine.

How would they know that?

Did you get an itemised bill? If there's a filter on it you know whether it was supposed to be part of the service

Ask for the service to be done again whilst you watch.

A mate did this at a BMW garage when he found the oil filter had not been changed

No not yet , dealer is supposed to be sending it to me. But service garage reckoned they had got one in and not returned?

Not my choice, it was where Spinney motorhomes sent it for service.
Christ that doesn't bode well. To keep warranty right I suppose.

I’d be checking the bill to see if you have been charged for it!!
If it was supposed to have been done before you got it I’d be on the blower to spinney with some pics en route via email👍

I must say the last service I had the under tray dropped off on the M1 40 odd mile later, rung said “Fiat Professional” garage up and the were apologetic and fitted another at my earliest convenience 👍
