I had to take the RV - Winnebago to our local garage to get the genny oil replaced (they had installed a semi synthetic oil when it should have been mineral..).. so it had to go back for a change. That means going through some not to nice country roads out of Tunbridge Wells.
The usual mad mums rushing kids to school or travelling to fast back.. the odd coach and truck... now I value my Valvec wing mirrors.. you would at the best part of £400 a head. So I tend to go slower and give way.. being 9'11" wide on the mirrors ...
But this week I was forced in to the trees on the side /hedge... got a few scratch marks on the fiberglass curb side of the hab area high up.. so this morning in the hot weather I have had Sue up the scaffolding tower to tcut the areas.. fortunately they have come off.. but I just hate country lanes ..especial when you are being forced in to the side due to excess I've speed.
The worse trucks are the scaffolding type and the builders.. under 7.5 tons ..
What really amazed me was on a road out of Tunbridge Wells and this is a normal main road.. there was not enough room for a heavy recovery truck with a lorry on the spec frame and us to pass.. so he does the right thing and holds before it gets narrow and flashes me to come down.. 3 cars ...sorry all women over take him and end up in front of me with no where to go. What should have been a couple of minutes at the most took 15 getting them backed up around and behind the breakdown truck.
