Lidl to sell bargain £50 Dyson lookalike cordless vacuum.

You do get a three year no quibble warranty with the Lidl product so its an no brainer, if its crap take it back ! We bought a TV a few months ago from them and something went wrong, rung the telephone number on the warranty, would we want it repairing, replacing or refunding? Refunding please, sent a pick up date for a courier to pick up and fully refunded in three days, no questions asked for the price why not get two!

Damn....I mentioned this to cook this morning over breakfast. She said it would be ideal for the new fiver, so after visiting 3 Lidl shops in Liverpool she managed to get the last one at the Huyton branch. She now has 4 vacuum cleaners dotted around the place, and tells me to go and get another for the fiver as she needs this one for the stairs. Why do I not keep my mouth shut.

Well, I’ve had quite a few Silvercrest products from Lidl. Food mixers, juicers etc. For motorhome use they are very good. So I shall investigate their hoover. I think Dyson do make good products but personally couldn’t justify their price for motorhome use.

WE`ve no chance. Our new LIDLE doesnt open for several weeks yet!. They`ve got the shell up and the groundwork's done. Dyson are OK, but overpriced for stuff that is actually "built" in 3rd world Sweatshops.

It always amazes me that a lot of people equate quality with brands and both with a high price tag. More fool them.

Most of the money you spend on that overpriced item goes into actually building that brand name, not into the manufacturing process or quality of the materials and skills used in its construction. Sometimes it is even used to build fan-bases.

The advertising industry is a very big and clever business indeed. (been a professional in it for many years!)

We bought a half price Shark in the recent Amazon sale and have to admit that whilst our Dysons all work very well the build quality of the Shark is in a different league. The Lidl special might not be too far away from the original?

We're fans of the "Shark" vacuum cleaner too, I have a Dyson for the moho & Hazel wouldn't give the Dyson houseroom.
The Shark outperforms the Dyson in every way possible.

As usual, too many men commenting on a job they generally rarely do

??

I rarely let Hazel do the vacuum cleaning, its easier for me to do when Hazel takes the dogs out for their stroll, no-one under my feet.
I really don't mind using the vacuum cleaner but, I detest sitting in the room when someone else is using the vacuum cleaner.

Yet a woman wash, polish and wax a Motorhome, takes two to three days of hard graft.
Assuming you meant t say “yet to see ......”
I’ll let you know when to pop round to our place to watch! :)

He forgot to mention that I cook him nice dinners...…..that's him on gruel this evening.:)

Yes my love I do have to compliment you on the consistently high standard of your cooking.

I used to really enjoy cooking folks but, standing for any length of time is impossible for me just now.
However, I do manage in our motorhome as I can cook whilst sitting down, yippee.

If the one Lidl are selling is worse than a Dyson, it must be a dustpan and brush !!
Yep, we have not had a lot of luck with the over priced tat Dyson puts out ( and I notice Dyson are still using misleading wording in their adverts despite countless complaints from many many sources )

I’m in agreement with you.

We had one of those boat vacuums cordless effort.

It was crap I have to say.

I returned it for a refund.

Does anyone have one of the Sharks that have a blade or something that clears the hair off the brushes as you go along? Could swear I saw an advert once.. But only once. Do they work?
I find a penknife more than effective Joy.
Slip the blade under the hair at one end of the roller brush and slide along. Pull the ends of the cut hair off the brush.

In the Motorhome we use a Mains small hoover from the Factory shop cost £18, 2 years ago really powerful it sucks up the pile off the carpets , well I think it's powerful but it maybe poor quality carpets in our 2 year old Chausson !!:giggle:.

It has been said that Robert can make really good apple pie, guess who has NEVER even seen one of them, never mind tried....hmmmmm…...It's only been 15 years dearest.;):LOL:

Bl**dy H*ll. Not only do we have Funsters falling out with each other we now get domestics as well.;):giggle:

I bought the Lidl vacuum yesterday and it’s working just as good as the Dyson I have at home. It looks pretty well built and it’s working well. They are obviously ripping off Dyson but then Dyson has being doing the same to us. I am sharing the van with 3 Golden retrievers that shed hair and drag in lots of pine needles so it is getting tested well. Battery comes precharged so can use right away.

Ann bought one, she likes it. At 24v obviously not as powerful as a mains one but still OK. The carpet attachment has got a motor in it to turn the brushes.

Looks like the usual major strip down job to clean all the filters every time it's used. Weren't bags good, no faffing about cleaning, remove and straight into the landfill ?

Wisbech Lidl had run out this morning but a quick detour to King's Lynn and they had a pile of them.
They feel and look good quality and with 3 years guarantee must be good.

We have a 12 volt Black and Decker vacuum on the motorhome but it sounds like a B52 bomber flying over at 50 feet, so in respect to our neighbours when we are out and about in the van, I this morning I have bought one of the Lidl jobbies. (y)

Bought one yesterday and tried out today. Ideal for our small PVC. Only need to take the vac unit with the battery, plus the twin small brush/crevice tool and the mains charger to plug directly into the vac head unit and powered from our inverter/Lifos twin battery set up when away touring. The rest of the kit can stay in the garage at home. The battery spec is Li-ion 22.2v, 2400 mAh. What's not to like at under £50 with 3 year warranty. I have wasted more than this on near useless 12v "car vacs" in the past.?

For £50, it's got to be worth a punt, if you've not already got a cordless vac for the MH.
Silvercrest products tend to be very reliable. (y)

The old motto goes "buy cheap, buy twice" well you'd still be £500 better off ?
£550 actually, and for the full duration of the 3 x year warranty.

We bought a Vax cordless for the motorhome. It cleans far better than our floor standing Dyson.
We bought a VAX Blade Pro Cordless 32v, and with 45 x minutes running time, it is ideal for the MH. Rita is really chuffed with it. (y)

Re Dysons, we had 4 x DC03/04 uprights, (bought two second hand ones for spares), and have been very pleased with them. (y) The Dyson Animal (rechargeable) was next to useless though. :(

Good luck those considering the Lidl unit. :)

Nice one. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Oh and his latest excuse is that our apple trees have not produced any apples yet, the truth is that they are young trees.....funny how he doesn't seem to see them when there are some in the fruit bowl...….it appears he has selective blindness as well as deafness.;)

Just bought one
Great bit of kit with a fit and finish better than others at 3 times the price

Well impressed
