Sue and I like cycling and disability scootering along canals. We like St Neots and want to discover other sites on canals. We've been to St Quentin in northern France and Edam in The Netherlands. Any ideas welcome. Thanks.

This site could be useful -- http://narrowboatinfo.co.uk/canal-videos/

The map shows the narrow canals in green, they would be the easiest to walk - I would recommend the Oxford or Caldon from Stoke.

The Macclesfield and the Shropshire Union canals are also wonderful to walk. The Macc has those amazing Snake Bridges

Llangollen and Chirk have sites on the canal.
Llangollen has a bit of everything , river, canal , Interesting steam railway , nice pubs and restaurants .
Lovely walks up to the old castle.

And you can have a walk over this - if you don't mind heights

Getting better month by month.
We like the waterways and having the MH has enabled us to explore even more. A quick search turned up Broken Link Removed. Not used any myself, but have been to some of those already mentioned above.
Also look at BritStops as many of those are near the canals.

we are going to see the Falkirk Wheel from a site just south of Linlithgow. The forth /clyde canal runs from Linlithgow towards Falkirk.
I made enquiries and it appears to quite rideable even for a road byke. there are some videos of the canal path on Utube

Bath Marina - towpath was overgrown narrow and muddy in places when we went but it was while ago so may have been improved. There were also impatient cyclists some of whom crept up behind us without ringing their bell to warn us - seemed to think it was their right of way. More recent visitors will be able to advise the current state of it.

We also visited a couple of weeks ago.
The site's comparable to any CMC site that we've visited.
Pub food was pretty decent and they serve Dorset Gold (lovely pint imo)
Slimbridge Wetland Centre is an easy 15 minute walk away (y)

Wigrams campsite at the junction of the Grand Union and Oxford canals, good walk, boatyard and marinas nearby, pub up the road.

http://wigrams.net/

Can be very busy as they bend the 5 van rule, but nice quiet location outside busy periods. Stayed twice so can't be too bad.

Love Devizes, good one if you like cycling as nice wide towpaths and pubs in all directions(y)
