You could upgrade to 3960Kg
You could tow up to 2500Kg

.....you'll need a C1 category on your license to drive your van since it's registered at 3,650kg.

(1) is in case you cannot do sums: (1) = (3) + (4), the maximum weight you can put on each axle.
Except that it isn't.

And that's not unusual - my van is similar.

As we found out previously you do not have C1 on your licence so you have two options,

1). Downplate the van to 3500kg which will make it legal for you to drive, but will reduce your payload.

2). Apply for your C1 to be reinstated.

BEWARE: Is that the only plate on your motorhome? Many have two or three. The one applied last in the construction takes precedence.

My V5 states , revenue weight 3500 KG GROSS.

In that case case there should be another VIN plate somewhere. If not under the bonnet, try the door jamb - it could be on the driver or passenger side.

There should be a converter sticker somewhere and I think that will correspond to V5 figures

Now we're getting somewhere 👍 the 3500kg on the V5 is the weight that the vehicle is registered at so you are OK to drive it. As others have said there should be another 'plate' somewhere but Carthago? sometimes use a self adhesive one that has possible not been attached, ours was still in the glove box and the van was 6 years old!

Looked all over for another plate but cannot one. So if the figures quoted what do I do ?

My van has three plates, the original Fiat and an Alco plate in the engine bay and the Hymer converters plate is near the rear of the van on the cill , not necessarily the obvious place to look.

If you had it from a dealer I'd speak to them or these people would be able to supply one,

The figures on the V5 are what you are limited to - also subject to the axle limits.

There should be a converter weight plate too somewhere, perhaps ask the dealer where it is normally stuck. It maybe the dealer has not stuck it on if it was down plated by them, our uprated sticker came in the post about a month after we bought it.

1/ Nothing, keep V5 with Van (as you should), and keep under 3500kg
2/ Get your C1 reinstated or take test and get van uprated as high as posible by VWE

Yes, I noted my error - and changed it before seeing yours!
The sum of the axles is what you can 'up-plate' to if needed.

Is that what people refer to as a paper exercise? I.e no alterations to suspension or tyres etc?

There will be a stage 2 plate on it somewhere, it could be anywhere, I've seen paper ones and punched alluminum, seen them inside cupboard doors, stuck on drawer bottoms, stuck on the wall inside a locker, stuck on a page in the documetation. A few by the top seatbelt strongpoint and most in doorjams. Have a really good look, I'd be surprised if you havn't got one

The Dealer who originally sold the new MH obviously registered it with DVLA with a MAM of 3500kg (as shown on the current V5).

This Dealer should have provided a (Carthago) converters VIN plate to supersede the Fiat VIN plate.

I believe so.
In some cases, you may have to make an alteration, but not usually. The 'paper exercise' is to check that it's appropriate.

Do a tax check on DVLA, if should state the revenue weight current

The dealer has today just received from Carthago , so he says the second vin plate which we need. It’s funny it’s just arrived today after I started asking questions re the weight of the MH

I bet it was just sitting in a drawer somewhere. Good result.
