Oh dear Bill. ... They aren't tight...... ALL Scarborough council carparks are free between 6pm and 9am as is on-street pay & display parking.
If you pay for 3 hours at 5pm the ticket will expire at 11am the next day.
Effectively you paid £9 for 9 hours... Still cheap though.

It's a con and You wuz robbed.

I've recently enjoyed my 2nd motorhome trip staying just outside Scarborough and noted that motorhomes/campers etc were parking overnight on Marine Drive (I assume this is where you were?) and many had to park sideways over 2 or 3 parking bays - did you pay £9 x 2 is you parked over 2 bays?

KirkViv you've fallen into a pothole many of us do - this thread is from 2019 and poor dear Anthea M is no longer with us .

I did too but realised just in time. I love the Yorkshire coast.
It's strange to think that this was originally posted before we knew anything about covid and the awfulness to come.

There is nothing on the marine drive signs or pay machines regarding taking 2 or 3 bays, so just pay for 1, all the better if you have a blue badge as it's free for as long as you wish, theres a converted ex council type bus that's been there all summer holidays and hasnt paid a penny
