Hello,
A quick introduction. We had a self converted LWB Sprinter for almost 10 years which we sold last spring. After two summers without a camper we can't take it any more and have just put up a deposit for another Sprinter and the plan is to convert this over the winter. We much liked the old 311 CDi and let's see if a couple generations newer 313 CDi LWB turns out to be as good a base vehicle.
Came across this site today and decided to register for some new ideas. The old van had a U shaped sofa/king size bed in the back with some extra seats and a fixed small table behind the driver's seat and a wardrobe and toilet without a shower between it and the back. On the sliding door wall we had a full length kitchen. In the last incarnation our daughter's bed was an expanding jobbie above the driver's seat and the table.
The biggest change in the new van will be that the lounging will happen on front with swiveling front seats and some sort of sofa and the rear will have a raised fixed double bed. Our daughter is now a grown up so just two berths and seats needed.
Can't wait to get back into a van. Hotels are boring and a tent is fun but less so in winter.
Here are a couple of photos of the previous van:
