Hi all

The wife wants to go and visit the winter wonderland Christmas market in Hyde park this year.

Can anyone please suggest any sites I can stay on for a few days that are easy access into London on the tube

We would be coming down either the M1 or M40 side of London

Thanks LB

Try Abbey Wood although it is South London it is a
great site and easy transport to all London.

We’ve always used the CL at Newbury Park, which has hard standing. Aldborough Hall Farm £14 a night.

I think it depends on how long you want to stay. If just a couple of nights I don’t think worth trecking around M25 and in to Abbey Wood or worth staying long way out with walk / bus train in and what’s worse, back after a long day in London.
My advise to to stay in a hotel or Airbnb for couple night. Premier Inn at County Hall is in a lovely location and a favourite for me.
There are great buses from there that take you up Whitehall and along Regents street and Oxford street and you can just sit on top deck and take in the window decorations. Make a lovely break of it. :)

We regularly stay at Abbeywood and meet our daughter in London. We cross through Essex to the Woolwich ferry (about 15/20 mins from the site) so don't touch the M25. Not sure if that makes it a good route for you.
The station is 10 mins walk from the site and it goes to various mainline stations including Charing cross, you could then get a bus to Hyde park. We find it very easy to get into and around London.
The station is part of cross-rail and now operates to plenty of places but I'm not sure to where.

I found the southbank christmas market stalls which go down to Tower Bridge enjoyable.
Also Abbey Wood , would be an excellant site for your break.

Nearly all of the area surrounded by the M25 is in the London Emission Zone (LEZ). Check whether or not your motorhome is allowed into that area otherwise it could be a very expensive journey.

There is a C&CC site at Chertsey (J11 M25), might be a better option than trying to get to the opposite side of London from M1/M40. Never used the site so dunno about it's quality. It's on the edge of Chertsey, near the Thames, and would be about 1.5 miles from Chertsey Rail Station (South Western Trains). Indirect services to Vauxhall / London Waterloo (consider changing trains for a faster route). The website says bus stop 100yards away from the site but Surrey buses aren't that frequent. Site will be outside of any emission zone.

Lee valley edmonton, 10 minute bus ride to Edmonton green bus station, where you can get a bus to london bridge, kings cross etc. Or train into liverpool Street.
P.s it's just outside the lez if you travel via junction 26 m25.

Crystal Palace C&MC site for us. Good bus connections outside the site especially if you have bus passes.
