There is so much information on about tyres on the forum that I am totally confused!
Has anyone any advice please on some decent winter tyres with the correct mountain/snowflake symbol for Germany in winter for a Fiat Ducato
Many thanks in advance
Richard

Hi Richard i actually bought some yesterday. Having had a good look through, think about what you want them for. Mine are for an upcoming ski trip so only going tobbe using for a few months from now until April.

Therefore i got Avon AS 12 ... these have the
3 pmfs snow flake, are suitable in terms of weight and speed and 10ply .

Other more expensive ones are out there Michelin do one the alpine range 234.

However they must have the snow flake and the 3pmfs to be fully legal. M&S tyres (mud and snow) are not always stamped with the snowflake. Ive fallen foul of this before in Switzerland 🇨🇭

Now you know the above check out blackcircles

Caravanned for 30 years, nearly two years in with the motorhome.
Purchased 4 Michelin all season/cross climate camper tyres ( 3PMSF) to replace the manufactured supplied Michelin Agilis summer tyres. So far the wet grip seems better. Previous tyres wheel spun with minimal effort. They certainly look the part and Michelin are suggesting that they are equally good on gravel roads and grass etc. Trip to the Alps in March will possibly put them to the test.

All the gear, and no idea!
I had Firestone vanhawk winter tyres on some winter rims which were great for the 1000mls or so I used them, quite grippy. Since uprating to 5 tons I don’t have any spare rims to put them on as I am running Pirelli carrier All season tyres now, which are a good all round tyre but even with the 3PMSF symbol on them I can’t see them being very good in snow without chains 🤔🤷‍♂️

I have just had Michelin Cross Climates fitted and they are a comfortable ride with loads of grip a bit more expensive but with a discount from Black circles around £200 a corner👍😊

Thanks for all the suggestions. Still haven’t made my mind up, but it would seem the Toyo’s won’t be available until next month which is pushing it rather fine! I will spend the evening trawling through Blackcircles site.
Supplementary question…do you leave these tyres on all year or swap back in the spring?
Thanks.

I change mine as they are on steel winter wheels. Put my Michelin campers on in May

I can't find it at the moment. But if you search through my previous posts. I added a page from a German motorhome mag winter tyre test.

I ended up getting Continental van winter tyres. They stay on all year.

Very happy with them so far although I've not had the van in any serious weather, Black Circles are expensive, you should have bought from Camskill tyres. ;)
