Quite simple

New site launched

To inform where are the legal places to camp and park your caravan

And that’s because Algarve is full ilegal camping sites not licensed and with no infrastructures for the activity.

Some of those ilegal sites apear on web platforms like Campercompact



Idea is create awareness where and where not you should park your caravan

Well. In theory that is the lá and should be done

Of course police just close their eyes due to the revenue coming from tourism

My guess is they will enforce the laws more after this site and this discussion being public

But the law is there

Give them somewhere to dump even if for a small fee, they need the money from tourism. That seems to be the main complaint here, but I bet your bottom dollar it is more the case that the campsites aren't being used to their full capacity and the owners not happy with it. Yes, a nice website showing all the dumping places.

That's the trouble with all these sites on the internet, everybody including us just look for somewhere to park it attracts hundreds and makes you lazy, and upsets many.

Before we had them, you had to find somewhere and still woke to find someone else had found you.

We have been really surprised when we have pulled up in the dark, thinking this will do and it's been a pleasant night and a fantastic view when the blinds go up. Bob.

One place we park, owned by a really lovely couple, they cannot do enough for you, take you out for dinner, get your water take your cassette to empty at a aire.
We could never thank them enough.

You do not have to dump anything every day. We have stayed at this lovely spot for last two years.
There is no evidence of anyone despoiling it and I think it is fully ok to be there.
Tried to add picture.... picture was there... then it was not. May try again.

Maybe better not to add a picture. So many places we used to go to had 3 or 4 vans even if we shared on sites like this, then suddenly 40 or 50 vans since everyone can access apps, and understandably all motorhomers banned. I know if I find a nice place now I won't share it, except maybe on this forum

OR beside a railway line, a rubbish tip or a cliff edge.

Please note I gave no indication where this place was.
I should mention that the water was wonderful and permissible to swim in while others fished.
As for the comment about 2 years, you now know why we had to leave.

its a shame they don't offer translation into other languages? we're planning a trip now to undertake in a month or so, depending on hospital dates.

I'll quote again what I have posted before.

Where is the widespread evidence of this illegal activity going on. Where's the photo of Mr Dumper. Indeed, where's even the photo of 'The Dump'.

In these days of a camera on nearly every phone etc. I'm amazed there is no evidence (but there again, not so surprised.)
