Ok…
I have a Merc 4x4 that I have bounced off the speed limiter.
I have a 1400cc motorcycle that I have done insane speeds on..

Why do I drive my MoHo so slow?

I’m more than happy to spend all day at 60-65 mph in my MoHo - It just feels good.

Am I the only one, or does everyone else slow down when driving the MoHo?

Probably because you know if you drive it as bonkers as your other vehicles it will leave the black stuff rapidly and on most roads there is no kitty litter to help stop you careering into a wall.

Nope, drove cars in sport / dinamic mode, GSXR as if it was hired and Motorhome flat out, problem is MOHO only does 65 mph 🤣

Wayyyyyyy too fast still
My old Blackbird would cruise the autobahns at 150 and top out at 184.. Hell, I even spent £4k tuning my Mk7 Smart fortwo so it would run at 120 when I wanted it to
My current bike only does 120 ( F800 GT ) but I managed a sub 2 minutes at Snetterton.. ( By about 1/50th of a second but still sub 2 mns :- )
But I get in the van and rarely see above 55 :) As soon as I get behind the wheel the holibobs start, be it just a weekend away or a couple of months in Spain
Let the world rush by, sit back, relax and just soak in the joy of living :-)

You around Benicassim in September.

Since having the Motor Home, I have found that I drive much slower even in our car ! It even surprises the Mrs at times!
I have a BMW M3 in storage, and we have a daily runabout BMW X1 2.0Ltr 4x4 Diesel @190BHP only doing about 3/4K miles a year, and I drive that like an old man.
I even set the cruise control for 30MPH zones in town, even downhill on steepish hills, the car brakes itself to maintain 30MPH, much to the annoyance of people tail gating me.;)

I used to love power, acceleration, exhaust notes & speed, even had my eye on some serious German Roadsters until we got the MH, now I look at them completely differently, and think to myself...what's the point?, where are you going to use that speed & power on public roads? with Congestion, Speed Cameras & unmarked police cars are everywhere round our way these days, just not worth the risk of fines & points on my licence.

We have a new Supercar dealership open recently in Camberley, every modern dream car is in there, Swedish, German, Italian, and British, but then again I think, where can you use the power unless on a race track?, I would worry about parking it, getting it nicked or keyed maybe, servicing costs etc, etc.

I guess that confirms it!, I am a boring old fart nowadays, more responsible Yes, but still a boring old fart none the less.
But I do cruise at 60/70MPH in the MH on motorways, if the road is clear, and weather is nice.:giggle::cool:
Cant believe I have just typed that admission of myself these days.

Have Fun, Be Safe everyone.
LES

Like some of the above i have fast cars big bikes but in the MH i like to keep it just below the 100 mph mark.
Really, 60-65 is a good speed on big roads. Keeping ahead of the trucks and letting the must do max allowed pass.

I would like to cruise at 50 but it is between 4th and 5th with our 2.8hdi Peugeot. Would love to be able to lower the ratio so could use top more.

An interesting thread/topic is this one! I too am now ‘cured’ of the ‘need for speed’.

I was fortunate enough that I raced cars for seven years and was an avid track dayer either side of the racing. I’ve run M5’s as my daily drivers for 15 years, my last being a 740bhp one yet here I am now, happy tootling along in the MH at 54-56 mph and the only car I have now is a Toyota Aygo which is usually ‘in tow’!

What a change in the last three years!

The last M5 beast! ❤️

Yes, I do that.:giggle:

Why do you feel a need to drive faster? Chill man, it's supposed to be a holiday, not a race.

Have no choice, my female Co pilot gets irate over 60, have to please the better half, and so much more enjoyable to poodle along

I honestly don't see many trucks on the roads I use in France,Spain or Portugal..BUSBY.
