Thats a bit of an understatement. I have damaged the rear skirt and bumper moving forward to get off my drive. I caught a skip while turning my 2006 shape (reg in 2007) B654. Very stupid!

Its mostly repairable, but the front edge of the nearside rear bumper is broken. It looks like a small, separate section. I’ve had a quick look online without success. Do any of you know a source for Hymer plastic parts like bumpers?

Many thanks

Thanks. I looked on Brownhills website and couldn’t see what I need. So will give them a call on
Monday.

There are a few small edge breakages Figaro. I have collected them in case I or someone can glue them on. The aluminium lower skirt is scratched and creased, but that can be corrected I think. There is no bodywork damage fortunately. But when I went forward and turned, it just caught the last 20cm of skirt and ripped the bumper off. Its in two halves and only these outer edges damaged on, what looks like separate attached slim end moulding. I’ve screwed the bumper back on to avoid it hanging and moving in the, still strongish wind.

Photos would definitely help with diagnosis
as I too have B634 2006 model ….which has had a damaged rear bumper 😥

Here are some just taken. I hope you can see the end section is separate from the bumper panel. You can see the broken edge. Note: it is not flush to the side as only loose fitted to ensure no further damage. I think the aluminium skirt will need straightening before it goes back fully.

So my real question is: can any of you suggest a source for a replacement bumper end section?

I have no experience of this company but maybe worth a call

Your bump has minimal damage and anybody with car/ boat experience with filler and paint will do the right job cheaply.
cost to replace both bumper halves about 1000 plus painting and laquer.
I would think you’d get jo done 250 quid max
what it should look like 👍

I'm waiting for a repairer / painter to look at it, but if the bumper end panel is beyond repair, its available at £146! a half bumper (I don't need one) is now £700!!. Darren at Brownhills can get both, but they don't keep them in stock.

So beware, Hymer parts prices have risen sharply over the last year or two.

When we had a Hymer we were joined the Hymer Owners Group on Facebook - there was someone mentioned in many posts on there who produced look alike parts at much better prices than Hymer.

If it's just the end panel you need and it comes body colour I'd be tempted to just get one and stick it on I can't see labour costs to repair and repaint being that cheap

Wino. I agree. But nothing lost having it looked at. The lead time is long enough where a week won't make much difference.

David. I'm not on there now. I was about three years back, but not since. I'll ask on a couple of other Hymer forums I look at. Thanks

Update: I had it repaired locally. He had to remove the bumper to plastic weld the broken parts back on then glass in behind them for strength. It cost me just over £400. Brownhills parts orders to Hymer are slower sometimes now due to grouping orders together due to shipping costs. Or covid, or brexit! So I decided not to wait for a new bumper end. I don’t think they come painted anyway.
So job done. Off to Spain on Sunday. Thanks for the advice all. 👍
