Which Sat Nav Map Set (1 Viewer)

Hi, looking for a spot of assistance please.

When updating maps in the Chinese sat nav there are 2 sets of maps "Common" & "Truck"

Which do I use and why?

If you want it for the motorhome then choose the truck option which will give you routes avoiding low bridges, narrow roads etc., anywhere you wouldn't want to go in your van.

Thanks for that. Only issue is it seems to default to 40 mph as the max speed on ordinary A class roads as you'd expect for an HGV not 50 for MH

Yes I seem to remember having issues with the speed limits but I've just updated and as said on this thread they are now TomTom maps so I've yet to find out if there are any changes. I can always go back to the 2013 set if I have problems but the speed limit issue I tend to ignore, when I know what the limits are for the van (I think).

in uk the speed limits are 50 for a truck on normal two lane roads . changed this year.
but go slow enjoy the view .
when i,m traveling even 30mph is too fast.
the limit isnt a target its only a top limit.
you dont have to drive that fast.

Very true!

The only saving grace is the limit reminder is good for making sure your not in danger of a fine. Eg your quite happy at say 45 and enter a 40 limit if the sat nav thinks your already over the limit you don't get a reminder.

Just belt and braces having been made speed aware once! Thought I'd rather not be made aware again.

Also saves ER indoors from a task.

Currently have to set the nav on bus/coach to get normal road speed limits and vehicle limit no longer seems to work.

I bought one of those 7 inch Chinese sat navs - Xgody 704 truck sat nav. Works great so far. How do I update the maps? We are heading to Transylvannia in September and there are no maps with Romania on there????
