Thinking of subscribing to WHICH magazine, mainly to check out home solar systems.
However undecided on which subscription to take.
Much prefer reading hard copy mags but is App and tablet better for previous reviews.
Any thoughts?
Any experience of home solar?

Always been suspicious of WHICH, especially after what Martin Lewis says in his reviews. He carefully doesn’t name them directly but always talks about ‘truly’ independent reviews. They only appear to test/review the products of companies that sign up to them, so the public are not getting a review of every product available just those that sign up. A company could be producing a brilliant product at a great price but you may not hear about it on WHICH.
There are numerous reviews available free of charge on YouTube and you can yourself decide what is to be believed.

I’m inclined to agree with Hettie's Crew - we had a ‘Which?’ Subscription for a while, but could never get away from the feeling that they had their favourite brands - nothing concrete though, just a feeling…….. :(

Not sure if this will work . . . .

I don't think money saving expert is that much better I don't think they like bad reviews of companies that pay them neither do most magazines including the motorhome ones. When our MH was new I was really shocked at lowdhams hab check charges I contacted MMM and suggested an article comparing ha b service charges and maybe what was actually done no interest whatsoever

I subscribe to Which and get the magazine. Each year it has been worth the advice (I tend to use their reviews as pointers if any major purchasers). Magazine also includes case studies which highlight customer rights etc which I have found useful and used for negotiations.

Look up the Readly app, 8 quid a month for loads of magazines.

Personally though I find user reviews more helpful, like on amazon.

Does anyone else use thing's like the readily app?. I was looking at buying a digital version of practical boat owner but I think it costs getting on for the same as acess to lots of magazines

Yes…. but only if you have the time to read!;)
I use it quite often.

Thanks does anyone who has the readily app find it worthwhile?
Ann likes it for all the chat magazines on her tablet. I used to read MCN but it's not as good on a phone screen. You can register several devices (used to be 5) so you could share a subscription.

Brilliant thing, saved us a fortune.

I use it a lot.

Great value.
Likewise. Use it on my Kindle Fire. Mrs jannyman and daughter in law use it on their Ipads.
That's around thirty different titles/newspapers (and counting) all for one subscription fee so it works for us - so far!

This is true and they do not review every product in a range, what they do well is give you an idea of how well a manufactures products are

Like iPhone, always seem biased towards them.
I have just stopped my subscription.

I used to subscribe to Which magazine.
That was a long time ago but then the reviews depending a lot on the testers’ own abilities to use equipment.

Too many reviews suffered from the tester’s know how short fall or gaps in the expectations of the item under test.

There are now sites like techradar.com to get gadget info from.
Not sure to use for kitchen appliances
