As we only have a 45lt fresh water tank I wondered if anyone had any tips?
We are going across the north Wales coast next week and the only place I’ve found that has water (according to searchforsites) is Bangor services but there’s no guarantee the tap will actually be there or working

When we’ve been stuck in the past we’ve picked up water from garages, car washes, camp sites, marinas, industrial estates, breakwaters, even found taps outside public buildings, you’ll be fine 😎

Thanks all, I feel better now, I guess it doesn’t have to be drinking water (e.g. screenwash points) as it’s not likely we’ll drink from our MH taps apart from for the kettle, unless that’s a bad idea...

Thanks for the reminder, updated 👍

I fill up from petrol stations and buy drinking water. Never had any issue at all. 👍

Churchyards sometimes have a tap. If we are desperate there’s always a CL.

Are you sure thats all it has? 45L seems very low unless they have greatly reduced it. It used to be around 120L

I’ve looked at spec for your van and a 2015 review says 127litre Fresh water capacity.

Garages, some charge, fair enough, for tank. Large bottles of drinking water from any convenient shop. We tend to do two or three aire type stops, then a small site for top ups and empty offs.

Petrol stations, supermarkets, drive through coffee shops.

Carrying a couple of twenty litre containers might be useful.

We have gone to small privately owned campsites and just ask to fill, and empty grey and black and they are hapy to take a few of quid, one just a donation to charity and one free but they got some Belgian chocolates.

That way one solves fill and dump needs in one, without searching for 3 places

You’re right! The 2017 spec says:
120 litre fresh water tank isolated & heated
with level sensor
105 litre waste water tank with level sensor

I think I heard 45 litres on a YouTube review somewhere 🙄 2017 spec is pretty much unchanged from what I can gather so 120lt it is! Not worried now

I told Jo last night about our small 45lt water tank, she predicted that I’d use it all in the shower and I got told off in advance 😂😂

Thanks Geoff I was hoping this would be possible but as with everything else we were unsure. Our Campsite etiquette is still a bit rusty 🙂

Jo will have to change her showering habits, if she uses more than 5 Ltrs then she will need a good slap and to be educated on the ways of motorhoming. :giggle:

I might miss out the slap but yes 😂
We’ll be frugal, upon reading around and watching lots of YouTube videos we found that some MHs have trigger shower heads which emphasises the need to save water

Bob Earnshaw on YouTube is brilliant if you’ve not seen him, perhaps he’s on here? He lives just over the estuary from us too 👍

Even the free screen wash water will be safe. It’s from he same towns mains as your house. It’s not financially viable to run a separate none drinkable supply.
