We are planning a trip to France along the Normandy / Brittany coast. We are intend to use a mixture of Aires & Camp sites. We are thinking in the next few months, out of season. Any recommendations as to when to get some nice weather, say a bit like a English summer day. Also any recommendations for campsites in that area, or aires for that matter. We have a dog, so we need dog friendly sites & beaches.

Most campsites will be shut until March/April, aires will be open as will the Camping car park sites, Mont St Michelle is an interesting place to visit with several aires close bye, i'm sure others will have more suggestions.

We generally go in to those areas in June and September and usually have reasonable weather but like the UK can't be guaranteed!

Had that idea last year, mid April. Weather was cold and windy so quickly moved south to Loire valley, loads of Aires there and also open campsites if that’s your thing. Going again this year mid March but heading further south to Dordogne then will come north as it gets warmer. That time of year you don’t have to worry about booking things so get a weather app and go where the warm weather is.

Edit, and this one

We’ve been to Brittany twice. The first time in a Gite at the end of September. Weather was warm and sunny. We drove around and found what I described as my perfect campsite. We went there last year in May in the motorhome . Weather was warm and sunny!
we plan to go again this May In the van with family staying in gites. I’m hoping our luck holds…
Camping du Pont de l’etang at Cap Frehel
it’s a municipal campsite, quite big, no marked pitches, in the dunes under the pine trees directly off three most beautiful beaches - two of which are dog friendly (inspite of the notice in the campsite.) If there were 10 people on the beaches 7 had dogs and that was busy!

Standing stones at Carnac are quite something to see.

It’s warmer in Morbihan
we stayed at municipal site at Gavres

We’ve stayed at Camaret sur mer, on the Aire which is close to a nice beaches and walk along cliff path to see loads of ww2 gun emplacements

You won't be far enough South for anything different from the same English South coast weather.
