Most likely the switch for the drop down tv monitor...if you have one.

On our Imala, catastrophically damp, now repaired and sold it was for switching the solar panel output to the starter battery (1) middle position off and (2) to the habitation battery.
Ours pretty much stayed in (1) as to me it was more important to be able start the motorhome.

My electric water heater is a rocker switch like the image. Position 1 is 40 degrees, position 2 is 70 degrees.

Our V Line 635 has one as well. Ours has been bypassed as I got Wes at Solar Solutions to upgrade the solar regulator, fit a Battery Mate and a Fox battery state display unit. Instead of the “measly” 75 amp battery fitted by Auto Trail we have 2 x 115amp ones as we spend a lot of our time away off grid.

I agree with irnbru, it’s to switch solar charging from leisure battery to starter battery. I’ve just sold my imala 730 18 plate and it had the same set up. Hope that helps?

To question 1 - no idea and why did you not ask the question at the handover ? and to question 2 - no.
I Did but that was 18 months ago now i've forgot, but have some answers now.

Thanks Jugster it helps alot when it went flat last time it was not long after we had bought the van so it was probably not charged up enough again thanks.

Jugster, is position 1 the starter battery or is it position 2 forgot to ask before

Hi
You will need to check this out with an Autotrail Dealer, but from what I can remember and what we were also told at handover!

Position 1 is for the Leisure Batteries
Position 0 is Off
Position 2 is for the Starter Battery

This differs from other suggestion, but I think I am correct?

We were also told to leave it in position 1 so that the leisure batteries will be charged by the solar panel. Makes sense really as they are the most used. The starter battery will be charged by the running of the engine whilst travelling, but the position 2 gives you the choice of boosting it on sunny days if your leisure batteries are full. If I remember correctly you can check the condition of the leisure batteries on the EC 100 panel above the Hab door? That was on my 2018 model.

You can also download an owners manual from the Autotrail website.

Hope the helps

regards
