I found this under my entrance step which was extended, the MoHo is in my big shed , so it is possible it came from somewhere else , it is a purpose made item with a product code , some kind of clip , it almost looks like half a gutter facia bracket

any help appreciated , regards Kenny d

It’s the safety catch for your step so you can keep it from sliding in and out when travelling if it ever develops a fault.

It is stored underneath the step when new and often falls out over time.

So is it something that is permanently fitted or is it a clip you fit when the motor fails ?
I have look underneath & am not sure where it fits , I’m assuming it was fitted when it came off
I’ll nip out & have another look

It is stored in the underside of the step, if the motor fails it stops the step sliding out when you are traveling.

Is it stored under the very front of the step ( at the rolled front ) , if so it fell out 🤕
I think I see how it’s stored & how it is supposed to work BUT it doesn’t seem to fit well when holding the step in , looks to large or I’m doing something wrong

Your bottom picture looks correct, I've never fitted one in anger so I'm unsure how snug it should be to the step.

it Is only hooked underneath & if I push it back 10mm until the front upper part of the plastic clip meets the aluminium rolled front of the step it almost falls off

The fact it comes with a clip to retain the step when it fails doesn’t inspire confidence 🤕

I think you’d be better off chucking it in the bottom of a cupboard. You may never find it again but at least you won’t be leaving it on the road

i actually started reading that thread when it started but obviously never seen the last few reply’s 🤕
I haven’t got a step on our van yet but at least I’m learning about them :ROFLMAO: when I saw your thread I thought, yes, I know what that is(y) that’s why Fun is such a great place:giggle:

my MoHo has only done 390 miles , 1 journey from the dealer in Essex to my shed & this has fell off already
so mine is going somewhere safe , problem is by the time I need it I’ll have forgotten which safe place I put it 😊

I thought it looked like part of you shed cutter bracket.

Would a bungy would do the same job if you lost the original?🤔
