What happens when you've left the skyroof open

Crikey - that needs a 'colourful language' warning for French speakers :whatthe::roflmto:

We had our front panoramic roof open. (Autotrail)
With concertina sun blind slightly closed to shield the baking sun.
Then we drove !!
Sun blind bent in the vacuum caused by the open roof 🤪
Bugger. !!
Mitch.

Doobray

Is this a post especially for you, post Pershore?

I saw a motorhome for sale on ebay , one of the side windows for the over cab bed was missing, just gaffer tape, his explanation was one of the kids opened it on the M25 and it blew off

You sure it’s not an AutoTrail and it was actually closed?

On a more serious note it might not have had a window to close (eg. ripped off in the wind and too damaged to put back on) and then covered with something temporarily that blew off when driving?

And you have a “fancy Swift”?

Said as the previous owner of 5 Swift motorhomes who is just a little pi##ed off about the constant knocking of British built motorhomes, including Swift. And, yes, I know it was a joke.:giggle:

Do they really say Ooo! Lalaaa
Many years ago we visited a zoo somewhere in France, really nice place, two young lady teachers with a crowd of young kids were at the lion enclosure, I walked up as just as I looked over the kids shoulders the male lion decided to mount the lioness, teacher next to me said “Ooo la laa” and ushered the kids away.

First time I had heard it used in real life.

I bet Xavier got his nuts roasted later😀

Yup, when we had severe sunburn many years ago in France we went to a pharmacy in Millau and the pharmacist upon seeing hubby's badly burned legs immediately said "OOOOOOO la la, Docteur!!!!" ... we'd never heard of it said in real life until then. :giggle:

On a couple of occasions when we've been parked up during heavy rain, (but never again!) when we drive away my wife has the habit of opening the passenger side window. All is well 'til the first right turn. The water on the roof shifts to the left and gathers on the pullout awning gully, runs to the front if I'm braking and pours into the open window soaking my wife :giggler: and my road atlas in the door pocket it's cost me two atlases.:crying:

Hubby's done that a few times but as the awning was on the driver's side he just soaked himself!

Some time ago the guy who parks his Sunlight nxt to me in the storage compound managed to cause £800.00 s worth of damage to my MH while reversing . Flatly denied it! I notice a few days ago one of his roof vents was up to max . Yes we have had a lot of rain. Will I tell him? I fear not!!!!

at first seeing the beginning of the video thought a chicken had come through their skylight with the cackling noise, but then................ooops..
have to confess i did laugh, in fact my sides hurt i laughed so much, am usually an empathetic soul, but that was so funny, in fact i had to watch it twice..

.

It can't happen on my Pilote as the front sunroof doesn't open, its just a fixed window above the cab. But I must admit I have often wondered why it is fitted with blinds and a "mosquito net"

That’s what I thought - they had already lost the window and hadn’t covered it yet.

On a campsite when we were on lockdown there was a group who obviously weren’t used to motorhomes and they must of left their skylight open over a very windy night. Got up in the morning and one of them was on the roof trying to fix a piece of wood over a large hole.

Didn’t learn tho, they permanently attached their hose to the water pipe (selflessly!) with the hose in their tank and just switched it on and off as needed. Must of left the tap running at night as saw them in the morning brushing water out of their door and sitting in a large lake.

Hate to think who’s motorhome that was, the care they took, it certainly wasn’t theirs
