What engine oil 2.8jtd

What engine oil do you use in your fiat 2.8jtd.

Trying to order up my service kit and so far I've had 4 different oils come up as the recommended

It can't be all of them

5w30 semi synthetic
5w40 semi synthetic
10w30 part semi synthetic
10w40 part semi synthetic

So what are you running ?

My van has 105000 miles so I've read that with older higher miles engines that the 40 is better than the 30

I use 10w40 semi synthetic in my 2001 2.8idtd, done 77k miles

we sell tradetec oil at work,(its actually exol oil in the can) their web site recommends 10w40 semi synthetic ,yet comma/castrol say 5w40 , I personally would opt for 10w40.

Go onto opie oils web site.

They will recommend the correct stuff including all the specified numbers on the container.

I always use 10w 40 semi in mine 2005 2.8 jtd - after a friend who works for Fiat Commercial told me the thinner ones can gat past seals and cause leaks.

I've been using this the last several changes , mines on 56k miles and doesnt use a drop
