Hi
What do you use to keep cool when in Europe in the heat, either on hook up or wild camping?

Acclimatise after a few days & don't worry about it. We do have a Fantastic Fan Roof Vent which works well at cooling the van down.

Planning keeps the vehicle cool. Open all windows and doors early morning to get the cool air into the MoHo, then close as soon as the heat starts to build. A well insulate Motorhome will retain a decent departure, well below ambient if used cleverly.

Endless breeze moves the air well when needed.

Air-con on roof if really needed and on hookup,

Made covers for the opening windows that way the window is open but no sun comes in.
Wet cloth round neck.
Sitting in Tree shade-the coolest place.
At night-no bed covers, no clothing, wet clothes on body.

A lot of people say evaporative coolers arent as good as aircon, which is true. But they do work I have kept one of these below, they use 60w @ 240v and we use our inverter when off grid. They work very well and only cost £50.00
I also have a transcool but this unit does pretty much the same thing at a fraction of the price.

Had that in my frankia, used it very little and found it slow to reduce the ambient temperature. OK if left on all week on a long stay.
We had a rooftop one on our frankia, sound like a train.

This Hymer is just under 7m. It’s the smallest saphir we have. But I simply close the blinds, put a windscreen cover on and it’s very effective. Usually takes around 2 hours to get to a comfortable temperature and then it maintains it easily.

Great bit of it.
