Very little
"Hamish"
Im from liverpool but now live in glasgow, but its not as simple as that.
Ive lived here now 33 years, and i love scotland. Not far from my home the village of callender stands between lochs and glens.
Just outside callender was the first time i set eyes on "Hamish".
He stood in the field beside the woollenmill of kilmahog, rusty coloured with massive horns,
Fearsome to see ,funny face and the nature of a pussycat.hamish was a highland cow.
I say was because he sadly passed away aged 23 years, they normaly live till 13 so the boy did well
If you google him he had his own facebook page lol.
When hamish died it hit the national press and locals , tourist alike mourned his loss myself included i often stopped and had a chat much to the amusement of the coachtours taking selfies
Hamishes pen lays empty now but i still stop and reflect how life moves on often with i wee tear, i was fond of hamish more than some humans i know , so when i purchased my hymer there was only one name it could be, theres an image of hamish on the back too.
So the question is where did humberto, helen helga or your mohos name come from?
Its sounds bonkers but i write this with a tear in my eye and today will drive home past Hamishes pen.
Mark kingston.

It may seem impersonal but we tend to call the van by its maker ..."The Dethleff" or hopefully in the future "The Adria."

My Nuevo is called Nelly. She was going to be called Eggy because her registration is HVO (almost Spanish for egg) but apparently that means grumpy in some parts of the UK. :-)

Hymer cos it’s a Hymer and it’s got it’s name on it ;)

The ‘van ‘ because it’s not a person or an animal and doesn’t respond to a name. Am I the only one that moves on and stops reading a thread or a Facebook post as soon as I see the vehicle has been given a name?

Howie as it is my little Home On Wheels

Our RV is known as 'Mo'. Nothing to do with the wizened, bad joke teller, 'Old Mo'. Just the first two letters of motorhome.

Craig

Our first motorhome was an MLi Hymer, so we called it Millie.

We then swapped it for a Duomobile 534, but the habit of referring to the motorhome as Millie was so engrained, the new one is also called Millie.

Ours is called Pug cos he’s a Peugeot.

Quite a few things yesterday.....
Boiler decided to dump soon after starting off (fixed with a peg) then found hab batteries dead at the ferry port...

Yes, ours is called an Autosleeper Inca.

It's machine, what do you call your refrigerator?

Our is Max, reg is MX. It's much easier to say "Is Max open ?" than "is the Swift Sundance 620 FB open ?".

"Van" well we don't own a converted delivery van so "van" does not go down well.

Sorry to let the side down .... Scottish but still call our camper ‘the van’ or, on a good day ‘the camper’

Thinking of calling mine Moby Dick..

Moby cos it"s a Mobilvetta and Dick after its owner..

:)
